how to dissolve Angelica Root absolute?

i have put 1 gr Angelica root absolute in 10 gr pure grain alcohol.
it doesn´t dissolve well, gummy and resinous.

should i try with other diluent like DPG or DEP?

sorry, i mean 10% dilution. 1 gr in 9 gr alcohol

tgsc mentions 'odor description at 10.00 % in dipropylene glycol' so that should work. it also mentions that it is soluble in alcohol, but not at which ratio.

so, i will try with DPG at 10 % as well.

i will see what happens.
the problem for me now is that i found a very pure DPG in a spain supplier, but it smells bitter and strong, so i guess is not very pure. DPG should be odorless?

yes, it should be practically odorless. people sometimes use it for evaluation because it has less scent than alcohol. but it will alter the vapor pressure, it far from as volatile as alcohol is. the stuff i've got from hekserij.nl is fine.

get some dep too, while you're at it. armed with those two (and alcohol of course) you can dissolve the large majority of perfumery materials, including crystals. tgsc used to list the polarizabilty value, which helped to predict what solvent to use, but it seems to have disappeared in the recent new design.
