I had never heard of this house until today when a free sample arrived with a purchase from a fellow Basenoter. Straight from the nozzle it was very gothic smelling to me, something which I do not enjoy in perfume (a reason I am not a fan of Czech & Speake). This first impression had soon left my mind when the tonka bean enters the fray, this revealed an absolutely beautiful heart of tonka bean, labdanum and amber. I do not sense any vetiver in the mix at this point. Perhaps a little too powdery for my liking when smelled up close, the sillage given off by this fragrance is superb. It has the unusual characteristic of being extremely warm and inviting at the same time as cool and sophisticated. I think one could wear this fragrance at any time, man or woman, young and old. I am seriously considering a purchase!
