Three New Creed Royal Exclusives for 2011

FYI:

I just got this text from the Creed Boutique (I've signed up for text updates):

"CREED to release three more fragrances in its Royal Exclusives collection in 2011. Watch for details at www.creedboutique.com"

Any speculation or insight on these upcoming Creeds?

Maybe something Royal Wedding/Prince William related
post #3 of 26
If I recall correctly, 2 are being marketed as specifically feminine, and the other is the new "cologne" to be released in April I think.
I'll be in Paris at the end of february, I'll check it

By the way, I would highly appreciate if someone could send me a list of some addresses a devoted basenoter should visit

I heard about the "cologne" too. Would the re-relase of Feuille Verte count, or was it a Special Collection fragrance? Although the Creed specialist I spoke with initially stated spring for FV, in a more recent conversation she said this coming fall. It will be interesting to see what happens. Whatever they are I hope they are of superb quality. Thanks for relaying the info.

i think it's simply a training website set up for SA's at NM, etc.

of course I forgot every single thing Creed does has a sinister plot behind it. my bad. carry on.

I just tried this.

it's very pretty. high clarity with INSANE staying power. it's a lot of white flowers at first, but settles into a jasmine and rose party for the duration. it also has a very cool hint of neroli which gives it a little tropical vibe (reminiscent of Neroli Portofino). the basenotes, which come about 8 strong hours later, are slight vanilla and their signature ambergris.

smells classy and a just a little "mature". i think anyone under 30 might be uncomfortable in this. but not at all "old-lady" smelling as most of their womens line is to me.

I'd love to get your take on it, Mimi Gardenia!

Yes, Mimi has to smell this one. I think it's the star of the show. Male BNers are going to dogpile on Royal Oud, which has all the wood and spice and complexity that gets respect around here, but White Flowers is the stuff. It's almost ridiculously good. It has the "non-old-lady" class and sophistication of the Spring Flower / Fleurissimo end of the Creed feminine lineup, but even more modernity - comparable with things like Eau Première and Shalimar Parfum Initial - but not "young girlie" like Acqua Fiorentina.

I agree - very pretty, very clear - a LOT of oomph, but not too much.

Where are you getting that price? The 75ml bottle is $300. Although I personally do not think it is worth that price.

I agree that $300 is pushing things. I'll bet that price is a compromise already to keep it in the perfumista market. The flacon price on Royal Oud won't be pretty when it happens eventually. It's too bad there isn't a smaller one, because it's a great occasional wear fragrance, and it doesn't take a ton of it to satisfy, IMO. I can't see this being my signature scent, but it's a great alternative to Bois du Portugal.

There's a bit of a raw, opaque, deeply oriental character that comes and goes, and seems to be hinted at in the "Persian and Parisian" tagline (Lordy, Lordy, Lordy!). It's unique in the Creeds, and I think it's interesting as hell. But I'm not sure I'm in it for 300 clams.

have to agree with the Perfumisto - after spending a week with Royal Oud, it isn't gonna make the cut @ 300.
Maybe a decant for grins.

Hello everyone, just preordered royal oud today and thought it was amazing as a fragrance. A bit pricey but can't wait to wear it. Just my two cents,

Oud over-kill has certainly reached its zenith.

You never know!

Truthfully, I was asked to join CFB as a monthly contributor, and they suggested that I pick something I was really passionate about for the debut. Creed White Flowers was at the top of my list on that score. Fortunately, nobody there had done it yet.

I agree - I almost wish the same thing for oud that you predict for Creed - that one of these days, it simply be allowed to go back to being a humble note like guaiac wood - no better or worse than any other.

Someday, let me sing.... "phony oudmania has bitten the dust"!
