Double Vanille or Tonka Imperiale

I can only afford one at this point of the year, the other will have to be bought in the fall...which one should I pick up?? I love them both.

Double Vanille. Tonka Imperiale is a bit too powdery for my liking. I love that the Double Vanille has cedar and a few other notes to break up the vanilla. I just get straight Tonka Bean from Tonka Imperiale.

You must have a sweet tooth. I'd go for Tonka Imperiale, it's a bit less thick - just a bit.

I'd suggest take SDV first, Tonka I is bit too stuffy to wear during summer time.

Both are top in their classes. Wonderul tonka from tonk a imperialle and fantastic vanilla from SDV.
I would suggest SDV as TI seems a little feminine TI on me.

Go for SDV! Tonka Imperiale has a synthetic/cheap vibe to it in its dry-down that I was absolutely shocked by, given its price. SDV will become a staple of any wardrobe.

A difficult choice! I think they are fairly similar. SDV has a boozy vibe (reminds me of my mother's bourbon balls), while TI has a more herbal tone under the vanilla. I would go for the SDV but maybe that's just me.

Double Vanille. Call me strange, but I seriously think the note pyramid is shaped like a donut. It might have to do with how smooth it smells, but I find it very hollow smelling, yet there's this outer richness to it.

The Tonka is very heavy, almost annoyingly sweet to my nose.

Tonka Impériale. SDV is very good but there are just so many vanilla scents on the market... not so with tonka.

Hands down the legendary SDV. Powdery toasted almonds in TI are not my thing.

OP, you're spot on. They're different enough to justify owning both. I'd start off with SDV. You're probably not going to wait until Fall to acquire TI though (or vice versa)

I prefer SDV as Tonka is a bit too light. I much prefer eau de baux than either of them.
