Worst cologne you've ever smelled???????????

Let's keep it real not all cologne's smell good. So what cologne in your opinion does not appeal to you at all? And Why?

Aramis by Aramis. I think it's bergamot that I really don't like. Although having said that today I've been enjoying my first wearing of Esencia Loewe and that too has bergamot. I suppose the good thing about it that the top notes disappear rapidly. But Aramis by Aramis I find just vile. Pungent, nauseous and unspeakably harsh. I suppose it does deserve another proper wearing before I damn it, but I don't think that will ever happen.

Kouros.

Tiffany for Men
ps by paul sebastian. nauseating, headache-inducing old spice on steroids. totally vile stuff that style forgot.

Masculine by Dolce & Gabbana. Smells like an awful lemon-toilet-cleaner-mixture all the way to the drydown. I think it's discontinued anyway.

I blind-bought it reminiscing high school days (I used to have a sample of it back then) and thought I had liked it. However, it turned out that I was terribly wrong. When I wore it again for the first time I was disgusted by it the whole day long. And that smell wouldn't go away...

So, in case anybody wants it, I'd give it away for free right away! ;-)

Kouros

Angel Men by Mugler as I threw up the first time I smelled it and had to have a shower in the middle of the night as i made the mistake of dabbing the scent over my neck and wrists.

Cool Water
Gaultier 2

Eau Noire Cologne - smells like straight up curry, and nothing else! Eew!
A*men - just disgusting.

Nope, it is not bergamot. Bergamot is present in most fragrances, probably the most used "note" in the whole world and even tame fragrances like 4711, Chrome and Acqua di Gio have bergamot on them, and the last thing you can say of 4711 is that is pungent and harsh, but be careful, some of the more potent bombs also contain it.
Bergamot has a soft, citric smell that is very subdued and mellow.

To me Aramis is also awful smelling, but the worst to me is indoubitably A*men, unless you consider Skin Bracer a cologne LOL
post #12 of 221
Play Intense by Givenchy. The opening isn't that bad, but after the drydown it just gets wretched.
Kouros is just too much for me. I tried diluting more than 50% but that didn't help. The weird thing is that I was wearing vintage Tabu the other day and couldn't believe how animalic it was, yet I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport

I will never understand this one, never.

I wonder what the dominant note(s) are in Aramis then, the Sage maybe? From looking at the pyramid I don't actually know what any of these - Clary Sage, Myrtle Oil, Clove Bud Oil - smell like. I just need to be careful not to blind buy anything that shares too many of the same notes as Aramis.

Also agree with all the A*men dishonourable mentions - ghastly.
another one i totally cannot bear is fahrenheit. cheap, vulgar, hideous.
The worst for me is Fahrenheit(sorry) followed by
Poison(original)-CD
Grey Flannel-GB
Burberry(original)
Cool Water-Davidoff

wow...Chanel Allure Homme Sport is one of my favorite fragrance... the only people I know that don't like it are old people...

The one that I don't like is Aramis... wow that stuff smells like an old guy...and just over powering...like sniffing gasoline...

Gucci pour homme - bottled pencil shavings. I'll conceived.
Loads and loads, but apart from the names mentioned here, Hammam Bouquet by Penhaligons and Eau de Campagne by Sisley come quite close, the first smelling very alcoholic to my nose, the latter way too pungently green- yep, serious fragrance lovers will certainly disagree, but sorry, I simply cannot stand these scents

And of course, there is always Hugo (1995) and so many more...

A*Men
Opium

YUCKY!!!!
Allure homme sport may not be my least favourite, but it's close. (Silver Mountain Water is worse).

Does that make me old (age 41)? I am in fact old enough to have used rotary phones as a kid, and owned vinyl records.

Boss Element : Synthetic-Aromatic-Metallic-Aquatic; Can you imagine what is it?! I don't think Hugo Boss is guilty (because of the name)

To me the dominant note is "turpentine" LOL, but seriously, I think in the synergistic sum of some ot its constituents, my suspicion would be myrtle oil with clove and some other spices like cinnamon and cumin. At any rate, it is hideous.

Narciso Rodriguez for Him Musc EDP
-- First time I tried this, it reminded me the smell of peanut oil, which is not that bad, but it made my stomach turn over. A month later, I had the courage to give it another go -- but, it did the same thing and made me throw up this time.

Secretions Magnifique made me actually gag a little

Claiborne Curve gave me a headache

I think it's Carnal Flower? the one with the heavy Tuberose, that just makes my head swim. also partly makes me hate Narciso Rodriguez for Him, something sort of bitter in there...

oh and don't even get me started on Grey Flannel! that vegetal note? uh!

oh, and C&S mimosa starts off nice and then suddenly turns NASTY out of nowhere

I'm clearly prematurely ancient here at the grandfatherly age of 22 ;-)

I know it's extremely popular, I just don't get it. This is, however, coming from someone who wears Joy parfum more than pretty much anything else. I'd call it "unorthodox", but maybe I am just an old woman in disguise? The mystery remains...
Fluid Iceberg. The only bottle I ever threw away. Would be to embarrassed to give to someone else. A true blind buy gone horrible.
One of the original 3 of La Collection Christian Dior is absolutely rank, I cant remember (and have no desire to recall) which.
ELDO Secretions Magnifique = immediate gag reflex
post #33 of 221
A couple of years ago I did. Cartier Declaration. I swore it was my all time worst sampling. BO, a spice market, CK One and Azzaro Chrome. Those 4 things mixed into a bottle. Eck !

2 years later, I love this fragrance.

Czech and Speake No. 88.
Allure Homme. It's so sweet its like having corn candies stuffed up your nose and mouth. I will never understand why it's supposed to be a perfume in the first place. As mouthwash or toothpaste, yes, but as perfume, no.
Czech and Speake No. 88, the worst ever.
Oh come on, A*MEN is NOTHING compared to the likes of Musc Koublai Kahn. MKK is like a practical joke. They should sell it at Spencer's, right next to the cans of 'Fart Spray'.

Well For me I have yet to come across the worst scent yet.

But Guerlain Vetiver, Vetiver extreme, Bogart PH, Joop!, Angelmen Pure Malt....When I sprayed them first, I got a bad headache
but I learned how to use them wisely.

I love them all.
Serge Lutens' muscs koublai khan. I'm just not ready for this type of scent

I love Faherenheit...although, there are some parts of it I could do without..
That's an easy one: Aspen. Take the pen off the end and add an s to what's left - that's what it smells like.
YSL - Jazz

smells like feces spread over a flower bed
post #46 of 221
Brooklyn by Bond no. 9....I couldnt get it all the way off either. I stunk the entire night.

Excessive amounts of Drakkar Noir make me suffer. Same thing with Acqua di Gio (which causes me intense headaches--go easy on the helional and marine notes next time Mr. Nose)

Musc Koublai Kahn, like Kouros, is best applied to the nether regions before strenuous exercise like Olympic weight lifting or blacksmithing. You do smell like a conquering horde of sweaty unbathed horsemen hell bent on destruction. Still, I don't mind it--certainly a novelty!

The only bottle I ever tossed (that I assume had not turned) was the newer formulation of carven vetiver. I simply could not make it past the top of mandarine, sage, petitgrain, lemon (others?) as listed on this sites review database. This one gets such accolades w/r/t the vintage too. Must've gone through a sea change, I can only assume.
givenchy - very irresistiBle

you just cannot resist that stuff on your skin

easy. Halston z-14

Pure Vetiver= Bitter, abrasive and obnoxious (or just plain noxious).

Aspen= Wet burning leaves and some of granny's stale 4711.

Issey Miyake pour Homme= Loud, sour, headache inducing, over-worn, played out mess.

I LOVE you whoever you are. CREED SILVER MOUNTAIN WATER IS THE WORST COLOGNE EVER CREATED!!!!!!!!
Sure not a fan of Grey Flannel...first thought was "who would ever want to smell like this" and then I let my wife smell it and she gagged a little and just told me to put it down.

Are you so insecure that you love anyone who agrees with you and validates your opinion...?

Oh, and typing in caps and using tons of exclamation marks doesn't help either...
Bleh. I didn't see anyone mention my kryptonite: Body Kouros! OMG! That stuff smells like straight crap!
Dover street by CDG smells like rotting onions and durian fruit.
If you love the smell of Poundland air freshners but want something which smells a little more synthetic and tasteless then theres always Solo Loewe Intense...

A scent so bad they couldn't even bother sizing the font properly on the box, If there's a fake floating around of this it WILL smell better than the official juice.
