Amouage Reflection and Ciel being discontinued

Hey, i want Reflection, the Rich Le Male!

This is ridiculous. Reflection has to be one of their best sellers - it's the only fragrance besides Gold and Dia to have had soap and body wash made for it.

Agreed, why bin your most successful releases? Seriously!

Lord Jesus, Sculpture, what are we gonna do! Man, I don't have Reflection stock-up money! Hell, I can't even really afford 1 bottle, much less the money to stock up on it! This is SOOOO not good news! If this is in fact true, I'll have to get atleast 3 full bottles before they stop making it. That should last me a few years...

You know what, hell...I'm gonna find a number and call. I need to hear this with my own two ears!

Bah, this is quite disappointing. Although not one of my top favourites, this is a good fragrance and one I would happily own. I'm surprised. It's fairly new too.

I think the SA must have been mistaken. I could see them discontinuing Silver and Ciel, although I'd rather they didn't. Both of those are older scents though that were created before Christopher Chong became the creative director. The Reflection duo were the first scents he worked on after being hired at Amouage, and both of them have full bath lines available, so I just can't imagine them being discontinued, unless it's an IFRA thing (are they passing new restrictions *yet again*?)

As far as I know, even discontinued Amouage are still sold in the boutique in Oman. So it's nothing to panic about guys.

I doubt they'd discontinue Reflection though, one of their best sellers. My Reflection Woman? which is probably their worst most boring creation.

Finally, Amouage has realized which shame Reflection is for the company..

Reflection man ? I find that hard to believe. RM is a legend and one of my all time favorites. PLEASE keep us posted on this one. Who knows, they may be releasing something better. No doubt people will be stocking up on this one BIG time, if that is the case.

I'm heading to oman next month, will try to visit the factory and get the news from the horses mouth. And buy some RM...

As a Le Male Lover, i really want the Rich Le male, Amouage Reflection.

The opening is quite similar, and the green dry down is heavenly. Even better than GITs dry down.

Ok, so I tried the numbers I found online, with no success. So, I e-mailed the listed contact person for Amouage sales, Joyce Henderson, Administration Manager the following e-mail. Hopefully I get a prompt response:

Hello Ms. Henderson, how are you? I was recently informed by a fellow Amouage fan and fragrance connoisseur that Amouage will soon be discontinuing Reflection Man and Ciel Man. I wanted to confirm whether this was true or not. Please let me know as soon as possible. I would be very disappointed if Reflection Man was in fact being discontinued, as it has quickly become my favorite fragrance to date. I have yet to purchase a full bottle, but have only purchased several official samples from a reputable website (parfumsraffy.com). I have shared it with several co-workers and friends, after getting the most amazing compliments from wearing it. It would be a shame if it were discontinued.

Also, if there are any available samples, would it be possible to be sent a few? I have had many relatives ask me about samples, as they have shown interest in possibly buying Reflection, but were not sure how it would mix with their skin chemistry. If possible, could I be sent a few to give to my friends and family so they can give it a few wears before they make a purchase decision? I am certain like myself in the near future, they will soon be owners of actual bottles (which are absolutely stunning, might I add!). Thank you for reading and considering my request.

Regarding Ciel man, I only smelled it once. Turin's review makes it seem a mouthwatering, dirty thing, but to me it smelled like a regular and not so inspiring fresh sporty. But I need to revisit.

But perhaps the discontinuation is for the female version (rated horrid by LT).

As for the attars, given that the supply of true sandal is now severely restricted, it seems Amouage is doing the right thing with the sandal attar (rather than using less satisfactory substitutes, as many others are doing).

Enjoy Dubai and keep smelling other houses (Arabian Oud, Abdul Samar Al Quraishi, Swiss Arabian etc etc)

Man, whoever this Christopher fellow is, you better call him Daryl! This is life or death man! lol I thought this fragrance would be with us forever! I would rather that, than this already pricey bottle being even PRICIER due to discontinuation and limited quantity! That's what I'm REALLY worried about!

Can we just agree as a board that anytime a SA says something is being discontinued, not to go into full panic red alert mode? 95%of the time they don't know what they are talking about. They probably want to tap into your uncertainty, and drum up sales of back up bottles...

Still gonna score a 100 ml bottle soon enough.

^ It's a good thing - I want to bottle on something else from Amouage first, but Reflection Man is an absolute must-have in my collection. I've rarely been so impressed with a scent on first sniff.

No need to apologize - I think we've all been there. Sometimes these rumors are real paydirt. I've bought into rapidly disappearing frags because I've gotten rumors in time to snag a bottle. And I've missed the boat when there were no rumors. So it's a good thing to report, although we should probably approach them all with a certain amount of skepticism.

Well, it wasn't a rumor. I was being my typical smartas* self.

Well with all the talk of Amouage this and Amouage that I was sleepwalking and placed an order for 1 (ONE) solitary singular bottle of RM. FML

The Rep that I e-mailed responded and said there is no truth to the discontinuation of either fragrance. Halleliuah!!!

Well you gotta admit that false rumor worked. Got me chomping at the bit now for some RM.

It worked on me too. I wore Reflection yesterday. I'm getting a 10ml decant then I'll mull over a full bottle. It's a very wearable/versatile sweet floral. Not many florals are wearable at work, not on a man anyway.
