Trimming your nose hair makes your sense of smell better

I think I'm on to something ground breaking here. I trimmed my nose hair this morning, and now I just applied my SOTD Amouage Jubilee XXV on and I can smell all the different notes. I can even filter out top, middle and bottom notes. Kind of like putting a band pass filter on a certain frequency. This is just absolutely COOL! With a nose like this, maybe Chanel will hire me to be the perfumer after Jacque Polge retires...

I don't know if it is all the gold, or dust collected, but by trimming the hair makes it more easier to smell.

Actually, I have a theory of how this might work but it would only be indirectly improving your smell. I find that sometimes when my nasal cavity is very dry it affects my ability to smell scents - the chemicals irritate the lining of my nose and the scent can seem sharper and just generally less pleasant than it otherwise would. Moistening the skin with either water or naturally via mucus always improves the problem. If trimming your nose hairs led to your nose being more moist (usually handling your nose, squeezing it, pushing on it to get a better view for hair trimming, etc tends to temporarily increase mucus production and general nose moisture) it could actually temporarily 'improve' your sense of smell.

Did u know oxygen only accounts for 21% of air ? lol The rest is mainly Nitrogen, and other elements like Aqua-di-Gio and Le-Male.

I always thought keeping your nose hairs trimmed was part of good grooming/hygiene.

I'd trim my nose hairs daily if it wasn't such a pain in the @$$. When I do, though, I don't notice much difference in my sense of smell. Those Breathe-Right strips, on the other hand...

Another thing that I learned today is that using a Neti Pot improves my sense of smell too...

I've used a neti pot for years. Works wonders.
A word of warning though: if you leave it on display in your bathroom, expect to have to explain to visitors it isn't some kind of sex toy.

Trimming your nose hair is good for many reasons, the least of which is making your sense of smell better IMO.
For some reason all I can think of is a recent thread about smelling all your fragrances blindfolded.

pick out any boogers and nose performance improves

LOL! Good one. Where do those fall on Mendeleev's table of elements? Probably somewhere near the corrosive halogens.......

On a related subject, I shaved my butt hair and now I can see much more clearly!

It starts with a "Z" and ends with a "C". No need to break out the weed wacker to cut down the jungles in your nostrils.

Taking 50mg Zinc tablets increases your sense of smell dramatically and testosterone levels. Take them twice a week and you golden. From personal experience its almost drug like how much it increases you sense of smell. I smelled my bottle of Le Male from 6 feet away. I have never been able to do that before taking the pills. I would really recommend taking them if your looking to increase your sense of smell.

I have suffered 2-3 hours of anosmia every morning for as long as I can remember. I tried this zinc thing yesterday (50mg), and this is the first morning I can remember smelling everything vividly and clearly. Thank you for mentioning it.

Am I the only one basenoter who would join a pay-per-view opportunity to witness this?
