Posting SOTD questions

I've done a search, and haven't found answers to couple of questions. I apologize if they've been asked and answered already.

When posting A SOTD, how to you include an image of the fragrance?

When posting, how do you change the font, size, color, etc?

How do you make your avatar larger?

I'm wondering if I have problems with these issues do to the low number of posts I've made, or that I'm not a basenotes plus member, or if it's because I have a Mac and use the Safari browser?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi herndog.

• Images of all sorts, I upload to an image hosting site (eg Photobucket) and use their link.
• To change font, color etc, use HTML codes.
• The larger avatar is a perk of BN plus membership.
• I use a Mac and Safari.

Regarding font, color, etc. It's actually BB Code that makes this happen. A good explanation with examples on "how to" is found here:

http://www.basenotes.net/misc.php?do=bbcode

It is bb code that makes pictures show up. Place the code [img] [/img] around the link to your photo to make one appear. Color is done by placing [color=blue]then your text here[/color]. In this case, the color didn't turn to blue because I turned off the bb code for illustrative purposes.

Note: It is important to link to photos that you have the right to use. That's why most of us use stock images from Photobucket or a similar service. Don't link to photos from, say, Nordstrom or someone's blog.

One more edit: If you want to get really fancy with colors, you can pick from the list of X11 shades. A full list is found here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors

So you can turn text amethyst by typing [color=#9966cc]your text here[/color]

I also browse with Safari on a Mac.

I never saw that page, Heartwood! Thanks for posting it. I've just been using the codes I've used on other forums.
