Daim Blond - Good for Blonde Dames

See what I did there?

Been wearing it all day. A tad too fem for my tastes (the Iris accord becomes 'Bottom of Mom's Purse') for me. Good longevity, though. Hard to scrub off as well.

I agree, and suggest instead trying Histoire d'Eau.

Taste is relative.

I think the "Mom's purse" scent is the floral and the suede you are sensing.

Serge Lutens are usu. very good on longevity.

I own it and love it. But it's for limited application only IMO. Works best in below-freezing weather. Advice: keep trying. It grows on you.

Daim Blonde always had a turkey gravy and stuffing thing going on. I know it's weird, but underneath it all I found something that smells like Stovetop stuffing and turkey. Thanksgiving dinner basically. Still, I kinda see the "blonde dames" thing too. Great, now I'm both hungry and h*rny.

Stovetop! Loved that stuff before I went veggie.

Having spent the day walking around Beverly Hills in 80 degree temps, I quickly got the Blonde Dames vibe. Few things more fun than checking out incredibly beautiful girls strolling down the sidewalk.

Oh boy, now it's "let's bash Daim Blonde" is nothing sacré?

I think it is quite fantastic, and glad it is in my wardrobe.

I own it but rarely wear it. It's a unique beast with many fans.

I love it & will be running for another bottle soon. And I love the smell of mom's purse too. I think it can be worn by either gender as long as they are not too hung up over the much fabricated masculine /feminine scent dichotomy & other yada yada horseshit. All I know is Daim Blond smells GOOD.

Agree 100%! One of my favourite Lutens. The way the apricot / osmanthus works with the suede idea is unique and very distinctive. I'm interested to try Cuir Mauresque at some point and see if it is related at all.

I have completely fallen for this fragrance after a few years of neglect and overlooking. I must admit though, I'm rather torn between how much I like it and how much (or rather how little) I suspect I'd wear it. It has this exquisite luxurious vibe which is unreal yet it also comes off as extremely feminine, and not in a "girly" way but in a sophisticated/womanly manner. I get what other people are referring to in this thread when they talk about the scent at the bottom of a woman's purse.

It's a rich, sweet and full suede, striking me as a decadent kind of leather in comparison to Boxeuses which is more of a supple, plummy almost car-interior suede with perhaps a bit more of a somber mood. They both smell like they'd be in a more natural environment adorning fabric (clothes, purse, car leather, etc) than an actual person, if that makes sense.

Anyone use this as their daily scent?

I love dumb blonds so two thumbs up

I have smelled this on two occasions and thought it smelled nice. Just don't think it works well on me.

I'm not blonde myself ... Not sure if I'm a dame or dumb either but it's a good scent . Quite clean smelling on me in the dry down and lasts a long time .

I own and like Daim Blond just fine. I don't wear it often, but I'm glad to have it.
Cuir Mauresque is not similar to DB. CM is closer to Knize Ten than anything.

I used to have and loved it but eventually gave it away. It was a bit too fruity stale, but I should have kept a small amount as I may come to like it again...

(Does anyone know anything about a reformulation of this little star? I liked it very much when I bought it around 2005.)
