As a kid in the early '80s, I loved Polo. I first tried it from a machine in the airport where you could get a spray of either it or Aramis for a quarter. I couldn't afford a bottle of it, though, so I bought myself a bottle of a knockoff called "Lancer."
On my next trip I tried Aramis, and liked it even better. I saved up and bought myself a bottle of the real thing after a while, from the fragrance counter at Dillards. I was probably 11 years old at the time.

Wow, that brings back memories. That was another early one for me. My oldest brother drove a nice little MG B, and it always smelled like Pierre Cardin. I have a newer bottle of it, and either it has changed, or my nose has. I still like the overall scent, but it's not so great on my skin. A big bottle of it resides in the console of my car as an air freshener.
