What do you prefer between the two:
I own and love both. Two different scents. Cannot choose...But if price would matter, of course the Musc Ravageur would be more practical. $200-210 for a 100ml for MR versus $235 for 75ml for BdA.

Musc Ravageur

Both are great, but Musc Ravageur is much better and enjoyable.

I personally don't understand the purpose of comparing two fragrances that have nothing in common.

its not a comparison, the OP is just asking which do you prefer. Everyone knows they are different, but its like asking do you prefer pizza or chinese, you wont way 'i cant decide! their two different foods!' you would just pick one.

I'm with mrclmind on this,
I love both, they fit in different situations, are not all comparable so I cannot make a judgement. It's apples and pears.
And, by the way, I also couldnt decide between Pizza or Chinese, I love both, which one I would opt for depends only on the mood.

Musc Ravageur

The OP just wanted to know which one is worth owning. Of course we all know both are good. He just wanted everybody's opinion which is better.

Then that applies to people who love both fragrances, i for one hate chinese food, but i love pizza. Same goes for these two scents. Hate MR, love Bd'A.

I'd have to say Musc Ravageur between the two.

Since they are notnsimilar, this Q is invalid. Especially because I own MR and plan to buy BdA. I prefer them both because each caters to a different want.

It's like asking which Does one prefer. A sedan or a sports car. Both serve different needs and in this case, excellently.

Bois D'Armenie. MR is too linear on me, the Guerlain is more complex.

I agree. And yes, I realize the question is "which do you prefer" but if the fragrances aren't connected somehow then what's the point in asking a preference? It's like asking "which do you prefer, apples or cheeseburgers?" They're in such different categories that preference is completely and totally irrelevant - preferring one infers no commentary on the other and vice versa....

I wasn't trying to be rude at all. I just didn't understand why the question was posed about two disparate fragrances that were so completely unrelated in my personal opinion. I though maybe I was missing something.

I like them both quite a lot for very different reasons. MR is a very nice warm and sweet musk scent that I go to when I'm in the mood for a sensual musk. BD is a beautiful incense fragrance that is my go to scent for a benzoin hit.

To my nose they smell pretty similar, except for the spice in MR. Maybe my nose is off lol that's why I asked this question because I feel they are similar.

No, your nose isn't off at all. That's good that you said that. Perceptions are very different, and if you find them similar, that is very valid! Please forgive me if my post sounded in any way reductive or rude; I promise that wasn't my intention. Sometimes things come across that way on line, especially when posts are short like mine was.

Well, what does smell like MR? I love that stuff and would be interested in another take on the concept.

Once again (because I keep pushing it when this question arises), try Meharees by l'Erbolario.
Cheap online.

Same concept, almost like a copy, stronger lavender up front, no clove and a little spicier in the dry down but overall remarkably similar.
