Giorgio Armani Fragrances

Mens, Womens, Love, Hate, Like, Dislike, Meh..Discuss. Starting with Armani, because it starts with an A, and everyone has some experience with Armani. I might make a new thread for a different house every week or something like that.

Love:
Aqua Di Gio: The first time I smelled it the only other frags I had tried/owned were CK1, Micheal Jordan, Brut, Old Spice, Axe, Obsession, Drakkar, and Curve. So when I tried Aqua Di Gio I was like HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME! It isn't my best frag, and I guess a lot of guys wear it, but I still love it.

Armani Code: When I first tried this(I sprayed it in the air, and sniffed it) I didn't like it, because it smelled so smoky and weird that I didn't even want to spray it on. Then I smelled it in a magazine add, and then I actually tried it the right way, and I fell in love with it.

Those are the only two I have tried.

Generally i think its too light and too expensive. But its my opinion only!

Acqua De Gio
Armani City Glam He
Armani Eau Pour Homme
Armani He
Armani He White
Armani Night He
Armani Remix He
Attitude
Black Code
Diamonds For Men
Mania

prolly the best brand for non-basenoters since it has two fragrances that are extremely popular with women in acqua di gio and armani code

I purchased the original Armani when it first came out. I have not been without it for about 25 years. I like it a good deal. At this point I'm not much interested in other designer fragrances. While I did not find AdG offensive, I discovered that aquatics just aren't my cup of tea.

I have never worn an Armani fragrance, but I did purchase GA shades last time I was in Neiman's. Personally I dislike Armani from all of their lines, but GA makes really nice sunglasses. (This is off-topic I know).

i adore EMPORIO ARMANI WHITE for her and HIM..liking the her more. good stuff
I also own City Glam too..very clean and somewhat comforting.

Attitude and Code are two faves of mine and perennial compliment getters. I used to own AdG but grew out of it. I've tried all the rest and all are just "meh" to me. Not bad, but not fbw.

They have made one good fragrance - Armani Eau pour Homme. So with that track record, I would rank them as one of the worst houses.

I agree. Armani Eau Pour Homme (vintage) is one of my top favorite fragrances, and one of the best citrus chypres I've ever smelled. From there, it only went downhill.

I only like Armani Code (Black Code) but even that is very low on my list. I use to love Aqua Di Gio but it comes off synthetic and plastic smelling to my nose now. The Armani house has not impressed me lately.

For me, from that house: Eau Pour Homme ONLY.

My pet hate from the first sniff has been Acqua di Gio. Most other Armani fragrances I find bland although not in an offensive way. So, I was utterly surprised to find I fell in love with Onde Mystere, the perfect fragrance for when I feel cool, calm and collected, or when I feel like I´m walking on broken glass and need to be cool, calm and collected. Before Onde Mystere I couldn´t wear a fragrance at all when I felt like that.

Armani to me right now lives in the place Ralph Lauren and Calving Klein lived in the 70s and 80s. The king of being able to sell a scent just because his name is on it. He's got one of the best established luxe brand names in the clothing world for men and that has carried over and given him the ability to sell scents easily just because his name is on it.

The scents are not without merit and I won't trash them as crap. But for many just starting out with frags, Armani scents are a quick and easy "go to" in Sephora and the department stores. The few times I've watched Jersey Shore, those are the guys I imagine having a bottle of AdG for daytime and Code for going out at night. Bet a lot of money that Snooki LOVVVVVVVVES AdG.

There are other designers that put more effort and thought into their scents, but - "It's by Armani......"

Armani PH is a truly great scent. I bought Code, I regret it. Once I could try the scents from the Prive line, as I can remember Jade was the one that impressed me.

I have tried:

Eau Pour Homme
Attitude
Emporio He
Attitude Extreme

Mania
Diamonds for Men

Code
AdG

They are in order, best to worst. The first little group are what I'd consider good enough to buy (I have Eau PH). The next lot I'm indifferent to, ok, not bottle worthy, not offensive either. The last 2 are horrid, how can these be the best sellers?!

I would like to try a few more of the Emporio line just to see if I can pick out the notes mainly, but they are impossible to find, no store stocks them. I assume everything apart from Emporio He is discontinued...

It's by Armani...

i would not say thay GA is the worst fragrance house out there, and they certainly are not the best, for i had smelled many scents from other houses that make Armani's frags seem godly. However, i think it is one of the, if not the most commercialized fragrance houses out there. They certainly have an effective marketing campaign, and it works very well, obviously. I think their fragrances are in the same group with Chanel's line; good frags, extremely expensive. You will never find Armani's or Chanel's fragrances in discount shops, or discounted online, anywhere. Other than the frags being overpriced, they are pretty well done, especially AdG. That stuff is magical with the girls of all ages.

I do enjoy the (discontinued) Emporio Armani He NIGHT.
i do enjoy code quite a bit, it was the first cologne i bought ^ ^
post #22 of 26
I've owned ADG and have tried He, Diamonds, Mania, Code, and Attitude. Besides ADG they all smell the same to me. My opinion is that Armani is in the same class as Liz Claiborne.
The only fragrances I've enjoyed from Giorgio Armani have been from the Privé line, but they were over-priced. The refills were not bad value I guess...

I enjoyed Bois d'Encens and Ambre Soie the most.

Little knowledge about the female frags by Armani

However, among the male frags I simply adore Eau pour Homme

while Mania and Attitude have the makings of a solid second place
post #25 of 26
Generally I think of Armani as way overpriced, well constructed and supersafe fragrances for work. No soul - they're cold. I can get them for free occasionally so I've tried a few but I just couldn't imagine paying full retail for them.
I've been bored to death by the end of the bottle every time.

So I suppose Armani, on the whole, is average - there's just sooooo many other good fragrances to try and buy.

It worths Armani eau pour homme
and then...... not bad armani code
