Can Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Be Worn in the Spring/Summer?

I am considering getting a bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male, and after reading several reviews, I've come across conflicting answers on when it should be worn and what season this cologne belongs to. Some said "It's a great autumn/winter cologne, but don't dare wear it in the summer!", while others said "It is primarily a winter scent, but can definitely be worn in the summer".

So, is it truly more of an autumn/winter only scent or not at all?

I would wear it on summer nights, where it's generally cooler. I have tried wearing it in the winter, and although it's a good winter scent (because of the longevity and sillage), it gets cloying if you wear it everyday IMO. So to answer your question: I'd avoid hot summer days, and would limit it to autumn, winter & summer nights -- provided it doesn't become cloying to you for daily wear.

Definitely fall/winter. BUT you could always get the summer edition, which is still Le Male except much lighter.

I have smelled it on a lot of people in the summer heat. So it is possible although I wouldn't wear it in the heat.

It can be worn all year round.

I wear it all year around. While others seem to find it clawing I don't. I love the fact that it lasts. I even use it as my car scent.

Wear what YOU want, when YOU want to.

Thanks for all of the great feedback! But for those of you who say "Wear what you want when you want" or that "there are no rules", aren't there though? I mean, isn't most every single frangrance in existance out there, seasonal?

And just a few questions on JPG Le Male:

1. I would love to wear JPG Le Male all throughout this spring and summer right upon us, but I don't want to, if it's not very fitting or if you're really not supposed to be wearing it in the summer.

2. Are there actually any colognes that are year-round or are they pretty much all seasonal?

3. I've heard from some that JPG Le Male is a little too "10 years ago". Is that true or is it still a classic?

4. I am definitely looking for a cologne that will be a good head-turner for the ladies and get many compliments. Will JPG Le Male do just that or not so much?

I use it. Its your choice! The mint refresh it, its not a bad choice at all

Might want to try Le Male Summer version versus the original. Its a lighter version of Le Male

How warm does it get where you are? There's no where I could wear it with 80s-90s and humid. For me it'd get to be to much real easily and get very cloying. If you like it though then wear it. Just for me mit'd be to much. There are fragrances that can be worn year round. I like Polo Blue for all year wear, but there are tons more.

1) I think anything can be worn year 'round if done properly- the amount you use and will you be sweating profusely or not, etc...

2) I live in Florida and just plain like the summer editions better. I wear it year mine year 'round, but more so in the warmer months.

I enjoy wearing Le Male all year long... But Le Male Terrible now looks like good choice in hotter days...what is weird everytime i have this one on my neck i got numerous compliments

Just go with a lighter application in summer; the heat increases the sillage.

I'm in Michigan, so the weather varies at any given time...lol In the summer, I would say an average summer day is about 75 degrees, but there are definitely days where it gets in the mid 80's, but does drop a little at night.

I would love to know that it's perfectly okay (and meant to be worn) to wear it year-round, or at least in the summer as well as autumn and winter, but if that's not the case, I don't want you all to just tell me what I want to hear if it's not true. lol

I just wanted to thank all of you again for your advice on JPG Le Male. I picked up a bottle yesterday afternoon, and so far, I absolutely love it! I've already received several compliments and I think I will definitely be buying it again.
