Chergui or Pure Coffee(new haarlem) - for prom help

So its down to two fragrances.
My first choice is, I have never smelled chergui but after looking at reviews it seems something perfect for prom.
My second one will hopefully be pure coffee. Im hoping a basenoter can sell it to me if not I'll just go with New Haarlem.

Which of those two do you guys recommend? Keeping in mind my date loves coffee.

Chergui is fascinating but no coffee whatsoever it's more in line with Bvlgari Black to my nose

New Haarlem is considered a coffee scent by many but it's more a espresso than a black coffee so it greatly depends on how you like your coffee. It is said to smell kinda similar to Rochas Man and I cannot smell any coffee in RM

Just remember that Givenchy's Very Irresistible has a very strong coffee top notes. However it turns stinky on my skin so it has to be sample before buying

My choice would be Chergui. I think that New Haarlem is too much of a daytime scent. But anyways, just make sure you are charming, otherwise, no scent on earth will be able to save you. Bonne Chance :-)

When I smell New Haarlem it reminds me of Beyonce....When I smell Chergui, it reminds me of a beautiful young Persian princess.... which one do you like bettter? I like both...you can see from my Top 5 below...

Well, knowing your date likes coffee, I would go with Pure Coffee (more coffee) or New Haarlem (less coffee).

I would not choose either one. Chergui is a great scent -- coincidentally, I'm wearing it now -- but it's much too formal for a prom, which is a youthful, fun event. New Haarlem is closer, and I've worn it on a lot of dates. Actually, if she likes coffee, New Haarlem might be a fine choice, though it's not really a coffee scent in my book. Women do tend to love it on most guys.

Right now Royal Oud is my "sexytime" scent.

Of course, if this is not your first date with the young lady you're taking, I'd wear whatever she likes!

When I went to prom it was more like trying to be as formal as a young person could be.

I don't think you could go wrong with either...but if she really likes coffee I'd recommend New Haarlem. Here's the reason, it's not as present when you first smell it unlike Pure Coffee which is mostly coffee and patchouli. You can use that to your advantage. Ask her to smell your fragrance and try to pinpoint the coffee note, then when she recognizes it it'll add a level to it that can't be had with just putting the coffee note right out in front.

You'll look smooth in the process.

I would recommend chergui. More refined. NH? I don't want to smell like pancakes and syrup. Pure Coffee? Nice hang out scent but not to a serious occasion.

New Haarlem...it's a serious frag that doesn't take itself to seriously, I hope that makes sense. NH isn't all about the coffee to me though, it's more of a maple syrup scent which I absolutely love. So, if you're looking for straight up coffee, this isn't it, but I think it has more of a youthful vibe yet not a youth vibe...if that makes sense too. My wife loves it on me and to me that says that it's great with the opposite sex.
