Agree. I don't like that many of them, but they are pricey scents that smell like pricey scents for sure.

They also smell very chemical to me and make me feel that i've put something unhealthy on my skin. Gold in particular i have found to be a heavy pimp cologne and nothing to be associated with luxury, at least my notion of it.

Weird. None of them smell "chemical" to me whatsoever, not even Ciel. Maybe you got a bad sample.

Meh, not to derail the thread, but i got the small boxed set with the 6 samples and every each one of them smelled way too synthetic for my tastes. Like, in a way that made think "i am gonna get cancer" and "this shouldn't pass a health safety inspection in a civilized country". Maybe i got a bad sample set, who knows. That's a pity, because i liked Epic Man quite a lot, but it was still marred with that poisonous aspect lingering.

+1 Carnal Flower

Add the relaxed L'Ombre dans L'eau or Chanel 19 edp

The C&S nº88 when i go gentleman.

Ambre Russe or Ambre Precieux when in amber mood.

M7, Habit Rouge, Chergui, le 3º Homme, Black Aoud (sprayed lightly) and 3 Fleurs (Parfum d'empire) get honorable mention.

It's definitely Tabac Blond for me. It has so many facets, but overall feel is on the verge from luxurious to decadent
Cuir de Russie extrait and Ubar are fantastic calls!
I'll add Vol de Nuit extrait. It makes me feel yes luxurious and a couple of inches taller than I am already
post #85 of 131
Currently I'm not able to purchase £100+ fragrances but will be able to do so soon.. fingers crossed.. so Dior Homme Intense shall have to suffice!

Bvlgari Pour Homme Extrême EDT

I see Amouage listed here alot, quite frankly im not impressed with any of their frags. The best Ive smelled is the Honour Man. Personally I think they all smell like 80 year old man. Not knocking anyone who enjoys them thats just how I feel.

Personally right now I really like Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir for a Luxury Scent. Either that or Frapin 1270
post #89 of 131
I agree with you. Tiffany for Men. I don't have this yet, but I've tried it out a few times and I think it oozes luxury and elegance.

Please describe exactly what an 80 year old man smells like... My nose needs some education, as I must not be detecting them when they are near...

hednic - Gengis Khan where would one source a sample, decant or bottle?

100 odd suggestions and not one Guerlain - Imperial Tonka Maybe its the Tonka bean that cannot be taken to seriously? But I love wearing IT with a white starched shirt and tie in a dark blue suit and polished leather shoes - I even get trade my swatch for a rolex on these occassions. lol

No Dior Exclusives does that mean Dior Exclusives do not reach the luxury realm for us Bner's?

Chanel exclusives did well in this thread. Diamondflame 34 rue Cambon Going to have to sniff this with your suggestion in mind. (Hijack thread question) are you not getting married soon? What did you decide on a marriage ceremony scent for his and hers?

Joe - surprised me with Carnal Flower as a choice. Is that not tainted dirty style? Joe, I would of expected your Tiffany for Men too appear as a suggestion from you?

Amourage - did very well here but I feel it may be too outspoken for me to wear.

All in all a gdamn good thread to read through

The first thing I thought was 'nothing sweet.'

Most of the Chanel exclusifs would fit the luxury smell.
