in the past this was something that I could do fairly easily, now it's either impossible or hidden.

if it's not impossible please inform me how to do it. I cannot search for the information.

much appreciated.

What happens when you click Edit Post, then Go Advanced in your original post?

I can edit the title of the post but not the title of the thread ;[

I used to be able to edit the thread that way

it seems there's possibly a hardcoded timelimit on the thread-topic-editing; if set to 0 thread topics are not editable by users, if set to an arbitrarily large number (999999999) they are. i don't know who among you may be able to check this out but i'd appreciate it if you did

Bumping this thread. I also would like to know how to edit the title of a thread. Especially when there are spelling errors or if updating is required.

Click Edit Post, then click Go Advanced - you'll see where to change the title. I don't think it changes the title in all the posts made in response to the original post before the edit though ~ only the original post and the posts made after the edit will have the new title.
