I'm loving my Muscs Koublai Khan on it's own.
It also seems like a good candidate for layering.
What Muscs Koublai Khan layering combo's have you tried and liked?

I don't think it layers well. Just enjoy it straight out of the bottle. There is one thing that you can do that can be fun. Spray some Montale Highness Rose to amp up the rose in MKK. Spray on a separate part of body so they don't mix on you. They mix in the air and Highness Rose is strong - one or two sprays only.

No layering required or recommended.

I would just use it alone.

If you like me, don't like the animalic top-note of MKK then I suggest layering it with Chergui. Amazing!

It works well with C&S No. 88 for me, without ending up mimicking C&S Dark Rose.
Then again, I liked layering Fougeres Marine and Black Aoud, so my taste in dirty rose scents might not match others'.

Sure Johno, check out Mecca Cosmetica. Hopefully a store near you will have this particular frag out to test.

At the others - thanks for the responses and suggestions

The rose suggestion is a good one. It provides something for the observer to hang the stink off of, besides yourself. Perfumes Rosine Rose d' Homme is an absolute delight this way, a really seamless combination. On a lark, I tried the uber-cheap Stetson in the same role, and while agreeable, it simply buttressed the top note rather than rolling around in the sheets with the whole animal.

I think a HazMat bio-suit would layer nicely on top of it.

I've only recently acquired a sample of this. On the fence. I hated it at first. Then I liked it-- though I'd seen a lot of reviews mention the cumin and I don't wear cumin very well. I didn't get cumin at all until two days ago when I splashed some MKK on my chest instead of my arm and it was a total cumin bomb... It bordered on Kingdom-like use of cumin.

I'm very perplexed by this one and intrigued, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to wear it out of the house.

MKK with Kiel's original musk. It is good on its own though.

Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, but I agree it needs no accompaniment.
