Best Tobacco Fragrance

Thread Starter
What is the best tobacco fragrance? I would nominate Vintage Tabarome, Alt-Innsbruck, and possibly CS Cuba. Any other ideas?
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille !!! - try it , you'll love it .
I would have to venture to say Costamor Tabacca and By Killian Back to Black.

Others:

Caron Aimez-Moi (tobacco/violet)
Guerlain Vetiver (vetiver with tobacco)
Habanita by Molinard (complex powdery vetiver tobacco)

And even if the "real" dandy never made perfumes, Le Dandy by D'Orsay has a nice whiskey/tobacco note.

La Via del Profumo Tabac
SMN Acqua di Cuba
Habanita
Chergui
Havana

For me there's no doubt: Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac.

Tabac Blond by Caron. I haven“t tried the EdP but the EdT and extrait are great!

Havana Reserva
Chergui

Amouage Tribute Attar - Smells like a cigar and an ash tray...
Histoire De Parfums 1740 (pipe tobacco and leather)
Nina Ricci Phileas (a complex leather / amber / pine / tobacco composition)
Profumo Di Firenze Tabacco (tremendous pipe tobacco)

+1 Tabac Blond, Habanita, Havana and Odori Tabacco.

Tobacco Vanille
(dry tobacco)

Back to Black (wet tobacco)

The 3 tobaccos I have are massive favourites with me.

Havana
Tabarome Millesime
Guerlain Vetiver

No mention of Tea for two? I was intrigued by this one a while back because of the tobacco thing.

Tabac Original

And, off course, the new popstars, Tobacco Vanille and Angel Pure Havane
post #15 of 50
Votes as well for:

Feuilles de Tabac - Miller Harris
Caron Aimez Moi
Acqua di Cuba - SMW
Tobacco Vanille - Tom Ford

Plus:
Vermeil for Men - Jean Louis Vermeil (a twin of Davidoff Original)

I dunno about best, but I was recently very impressed with Sonoma Scent Studio's Tabac Aurea
post #20 of 50
Michael Kors smells great, sweet, but great!

I just noticed on B'Notes' home page that they have added Illuminum's Wild Tobacco scent, anyone out there gonna try it soon?
You should try Hilde Soliani Bell'Antonio - a clever combination of Tobacco and Coffee......
+1 Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac
+1 Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
+1 SL Chergui (a nice pipe tobacco)

Personally, I don't get much tobacco out of Tabarome and none out of Guerlain Vetiver or Tribute Attar
post #23 of 50
Creed Tabarome Millesime
Vintage Tabarome
Odori Tabacco

It depends upon which one I'm in the mood for.
I can hardly tell which one is the best; however my favorites are C&S Cuba, Back to Black and Tobacco Vanille.
Tough category as 'processed' tobacco comes in many forms. My favorites:

Tabac Aurea by Sonoma Scent Studio
Tabac by AbdesSalam Attar (aka La Via del Profumo)
Chilum by AbdesSalam Attar
Back to Black by By Kilian
Tabac Blond by Caron (extrait)
Oroville by Xerjoff
Vintage Tabarome by Creed
Caron Tabac Blond (any vintage concentration)
Cherigan Fleurs de Tabac (vintage)
If you don't mind using an oil fragrance, Liz Zorn's MEERCHAUM (Soivohle Studio) is pretty excellent.

Tabac Blond extrait

Aqua Lambara - di Diego della Palma.
Also worthy of mention is the first, (sadly discontinued) Bognor womens fragrance. I think it was called Bognor Woman (?).....it contains a strong boozy plum tobacco note. Worth tracking down !
+1 Tabac Aurea.
Versace Dreamer. by far one of the most amazing tobacco scents ever. love love love it.
Not meaning to hijack the thread but are there more designer fragrances that could be mentioned....?

I'm also looking for a tobacco scent but can't really afford to be shelling out for niche ones!

Came here to mention this. It's fantastic.
You can get a 34 ml bottle of Tabac Aurea for $75.00. I've tried quite a few and this one is the most accurate tobacco scent I've ever come across. I wore this in a cigar bar and the waitress couldn't believe it was cologne and wouldn't let me leave until I told her what it was. Back to black is really nice also, but this one has it beat.
Vermeil.
Tabac Aurea sounds really interesting. How does it compare to Tobacco Vanille?

Dolce and Gabbana PH, Versace's Dreamer, Tabac, Herrera for Men are the only designer ones I can think of where tobacco stands out like a sore thumb. I have Michael Kors and Guerlain Vetiver, but wouldn't really call them tobacco scents.

If only Pure Havane had a dominant tobacco note, like in Tobacco Vanille/Back to Black, it would've been an epic fragrance, even if they sell it for $100.

Ayala Moriel Espionage
Social Creatures Rebel Ambush

+1 Vintage Tabarome , Tabac by AbdesSalam Attar
post #44 of 50
Oh, and let's not forget silver top Le Dandy, which has a great boozy/mossy/tobacco thing going on !
