The Better Cucumber Office Frag: Polo Blue or Wall Street?

Hey Guys:

I've been testing out a sample of Polo Blue this week. I know that it is highly regarded for it's cucumber note. I also see that Bond No. 9 Wall Street contains cucumber as well. I find Polo Blue quite nice for office wear, but wonder if Wall Street maybe does the note even better?

Definitely. I'd go for Wall Street.

Though it's discontinued and hard to find, if you can get your hands on Aramis Surface, it's got the best cucumber note I've ever smelled.

Izod is another nice aquatic cucumber fragrance that has a light tobacco feel in the drydown. (plus it's dirt cheap everywhere right now). Not a bad scent though.

I think in terms of cucumber, Polo Blue has Wall St. beat. I have both, but rarely wear them. Wall St. has a bit more going on with a salty/marine/kelp accord with leather in the base. It's a strong fragrance, as I'm reminded when burning the the candle version - but I just don't feel the cucumber jumps out and has as much presence as it does with Polo Blue (nor the leather, for that matter).

Does that mean Polo Blue is the better fragrance? No, but in terms of office wear and cucumber, I think it fits the bill better.

Wall Street smells gross. Like rotten lemons squeezed all over salty cucumbers. Sorry, another Bond disappointment. sigh.

Without a doubt this one !!!!! Volley2 is one of the most educated BN in the forums. I also own both and Wall Street is excellent for office use. Everyone enjoys it.

Wall Street -- crisp, green, classy.

That's very kind of you. This is a never ending learning journey....there's a lot for me to learn still.

I concur with this finely crafted reply to your question.

I still have my Wall Street, having traded away Polo Blue a long time ago. I loved the smell, but 2 hours of duration on my skin was unacceptable. Wall Street is definitely a "dirtier" scent and not as clean as Polo Blue, but make sure to test a few times to check longevity.

Wall Street
is the only cucumber based frag that I like, because it's really well blended and lasts 8+ hours on my skin.

I personally don't like/wear any cucumber fragrance - including these two.
