TOTALLY! Mimi is the true spirit of Basenotes. It's no wonder that everybody here goes into Mimi withdrawal when she's not able to post!

I am fairly new to BN--less than a year. And Mimi was one the first people to say "hello" and answer my newbie questions. She helped me feel right at home and made great fragrance suggestions for me. Now, when I want to know if I might like something, I take a look at Mimi's reviews. If she likes it, I probably will too.

Thanks for your warm and welcoming heart, Mimi! You are part of what makes Basenotes a great online community.

Mimi was the reason I finally decided basenotes was 'friendly' and not intimidating; I know a lot of others feel/felt the same. It's really something to exude such a welcoming and beneficent spirit... over the internet.

And ten thousand posts!! Holy bananas! Congrats.

You know I feel weird saying something before I hit 10000 posts but we know it'll happen sooner rather than later with my yabber mouth ! How you guys have put up with me over the years!!

Thank you very much everyone here - this should really be a thread about my appreciation for all of you.
Basenotes is part of my extended family and I really do not know what I would do without your kindness, support and friendship - all of you. Many of mysmiles everyday are from your companionship . - even when life has got tough which it has done from time to time and I 've been ready to fall apart.
It is truthful for me to say that you have all carried me in some way throughout the years.
There are some wonderful souls here - new Basenoters, not so new Basenoters and veterans ! I appreciate you all - every one of you. Since I'm blowing my trumpet-.......I do have a very good memory - you are all firmly fixed in my thoughts.

And I will always remain a newbie, folks , despite what the post count says !

Can I say I do love you all ???



PS I'll come back when I really hit the 10000 mark ! *LOL*

Some will be aware that I was fortunate enough to meet up with Mimi in London a few weeks ago and I can happily confirm that she is every bit as delightful in person as she comes across here (as if it was ever in any doubt).

I remember in ancient history, when there was a basenoter named mysticknot. I remember thinking, "what is a 'my stick not'?", knowing it was really 'mystic knot'.

Then a new name, a transformation: Mimi Gardenia!

Thank you for brightening this place up! It is always a joy to read your posts and when you go away overseas, you are surely missed!

I have been on Basenotes for about a year, and I often leave the site aglow. Then about 4 weeks ago I put 2 and 2 together: I just read a post by this Mimi gal! Now I always made a point to pause and enjoy your posts.

Indeed, I sorta want to apologize if you have noticed me "lurking" on your personal page. I was trying to figure out a way to send you a note to say how much I enjoyed your posts and what you give to all of us here on Basenotes. Task accomplished.
