YSL L'homme has a lemon and ginger opening. Kenneth Cole Black Anniversary edition is another alternative, which lasts a lot longer than the original black 6-10 hours and all the notes are intensified.

Aqua Fahrenheit is very similar to Dior Homme Sport. However, as a new release, it won't be any cheaper. I'm certain we will see many comparison threads about these two in the future.

stick with the plan. DHS is worth it imo

On my skin, Versace Eau Fraiche

Burberry Sport. Although it doesn´t last long. But hey! DHS has its own longevity issues.

[QUOTE=don03;2178912]Im In love with Dior homme sport.

me too.

i find the ginger in Live Jazz very similar...though in LiveJazz it simmers as the cilantro emerges, and with DHS it just keeps going

i wore DHS today. it's awesome.

Any typical citus+ginger concoction will do. Kenzo Tokyo does this better.

Issey Miyake 'L'Eau d'Issey' smells exactly like Dior Homme Sport. I prefer Issey slightly better
post #12 of 24
exactly ? ? ? i think you should smell them again, i cant pass Issey water.. DHS is other history, i love it. Something similar? no doubts is Burberry sport but in a watery light version.

Not on my skin. But I bought an unboxed one from Strawberrynet. Maybe it is bad conditioning? If wasn´t for the 2-3 hours max lasting power, it would be on my summer Top List.

I must be missing something here with DH sport, becuase to me it just smells so generic. I don't see anyhting special about it but then again thats just one man's opinion

Not groundbraker of course, but it´s straight lemon + ginger + sandalwood keep it simple and refreshing and mood lifting.

Burberry Sport is definitely the closest. I actually like it better because the citrus (grapefruit) is more tart and there is also even more ginger. Granted, like most Burberry's, it doesn't last that long (but neither does DHS). Also, I've started to see Burberry Sport discounted for $30 something or so at Marshalls/TJ. But, personally, I like Burberry Sport better than Dior Homme Sport because it's more harsh & biting.

Another you might check out is Tommy Bahama's Very Cool. It is citrus and Ginger as well, but the citrus is sweeter instead of sour in this one (it's mandarin orange instead of grapefruit and lemon). Very Cool is my favorite from the T Bahama line (and it's easily available for $19.99 for a 3.4 oz at all the discounters).

Another you might enjoy that is similar is Lacoste Essential Sport (the one with the blue juice). It's probably my sourest and most tart fragrance that I own (very realistic sharp grapefruit/lemon). And Lacoste uses a technology in their Essential line that extends the life of the top notes. I recommend this one as a very refreshing summer fragrance.

I like these kinds of really tart, sour citrus scents on summer days here in the southern U.S. where it is extremely hot (90 degrees F or so). I think they lend themselves perfectly to that kind of hot and humid weather. My go to scents on those kinds of days are YSL Live Jazz, Lacoste Essential Sport, Sean Jean I Am King, Burberry Sport, and Tommy Bahama Very Cool.

Wow that´s one hell of a post! Opened so many options to go out and try! Nice!

I would say to try Moschino Friends too. Sharp lemon (but not old fashioned) on top and vetiver on drydown. Refreshing too. Issey Summer flankers are nice on heat too.

But right now I´m giving my full wear on Millesime Imperial. That´s nice stuff. If it just holds better, it would be the ultimate summer fragrance in my oppinion.

Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche. Not a lot of the same notes, yes a lot of the same attitude and style. I like both fragrances. They strike me as the epitome of modern department store fragrance marketing. I mean that in a good way.

To me, Azzaro Chrome Sport is pretty similar to DHS, as is the already mentioned Burberry Sport . Out of these two I would go with the Azzaro.... peace

I can't get a handle on Chrome Sport for some reason. There is a spiciness in there that I am not sure if I like yet. Does anyone know what that is?
