Review-posting confusion

I used to be able to post reviews, and they appeared immediately. When I tried to post a new review, however, a week ago, a brief note said that the review is "on hold."

I just checked, and my review has not been posted yet. Can someone please explain to me if there are new policies? Has my status been changed? I am really puzzled. How long is the reasonable wait for posting a review?

Here is a quote from the FAQ regarding how quickly reviews are posted:

It varies depending on our workload. At the moment, the wait is about six weeks. We hope to be in a position soon to approve all reviews in 1 - 2 weeks.
Supporting members are able to have their reviews posted immediately.

Have you been a Supporting member before and not now? As stated, Supporting member's reviews are posted right away. It really is a one-man show when it comes to approving the reviews.

Thank you, shadesofblue! No, I was not a supporting member. I guess I was just lucky because my reviews, after the first one, appeared instantly.

Hey catnip, I've had the same issue...in the past, after my first review, my others would appear immediately...however, I'm still waiting on 2 reviews I wrote several weeks ago...I thought maybe they had gotten lost, but I guess it's just taking a little longer than usual for them to show up. So don't worry, you're not the only one!

l'm having this problem too! How come my reviews appeared immediately for several months, & now they don't? l'm aware of the info in the FAQs, l just don't understand why this has suddenly come back into force, when it didn't seem to be the case for a long time?

Welcome to Basenotes!

To post a review, click the link to the link to the Fragrance Directory (at the top of the page, in the green bar); then locate the fragrance you wish to review. On the page that comes up you should see where to type in your review.

Be aware that the review may not be visible for a long time; reviews from non-supporting members are subject to moderation and this takes some time because of the large workload of the mods. An alternative -- if you would like to see your review up somewhere (even if not the directory)-- is to make a blog post about the fragrance you wish to review.
