What fragrances are similar to Versace the Dreamer?

I don't want to blind buy this scent but the rave reviews are tempting me too. But there is the few that say you either like it or hate it if you don't like the top.
What I am asking is, What range of fragrances would someone like to like The Dreamer?
If you get what I mean. Thanks guys!

To like Dreamer, you had better like tobacco scents like D&G Pour Homme. I sprayed each on my 16 year old nephew's wrists. He hated them, and I had to get some household powder cleanser so that he cold get them off (soap hadn't been good enough).

there's a difference between tobacco flower and tobacco, know that. this isn't your typical cigar/cigarette/pipe tobacco scent. it's very powdery and floral.

I couldn't tell, it is very unique. I get strong mint, yes the tobacco is there but not too strong. A dark floral like someone said and very easy to wear. I bought it blind 'cause of the reviews and is inexpensive, so if u don't like it would be an easy sell I suppose.

Easy, Dior Homme.

There have been a few threads on this but I think there are no frags coming close to the dreamer.
If you are THAT curious just buy it blind, it doesnt cost an arm and a leg.

Maybe, kinda shares a vibe with scents like Body Kouros and Jacomo Rouge. Not exactly the same, but the powdery vibe is there. (also Kenzo Power kinda reminds me of this same vibe).

You might want to sample Bogart Pour Homme. I would dilute it quite a bit though.

I don't think there is anything I've tried that is very close to The Dreamer. A few that sort of remind me as distant cousins, basically due to their synthetic nature are:

Le Male
D&G PH
FCUK Him

Same here, I think Versace Dreamer is a very unique scent. Some give similar "vibes" but not similar, Le Male and yes FCUK Him.

Someone who blind buys will HATE the opening 9/10 times, but the drydown is amazing.

Dior Homme does have that vibe but not the same IMO. Much better.

Pure Havane reminds me of The Dreamer.

I find Pure Havane is just a lighter, airy, scent with that laundry drying on a clothesline kinda vibe to it

FCUK Him and Dreamer sit next to each other on my dressing table, but I'd never thought of them as similar. But I just tested them, and you're right - the opening of each does that interesting tingling thing up my nose. The dry down is different of course.
Thanks.

I too find similarities between The Dreamer and Pure Havane. Dreamer is definitely more floral and that shocking opening while Pure Havane is more of a gourmand and the unmistakable A*Men base.

They aren't replacements for each other and can't really be said to smell alike but the way the tobacco is rendered in each of them do remind me of each other.

x10...they're both Coumarin/Lyral monsters.

I just tried them to be sure, Dior Homme pretty similar.

I guess the Iris that is in both The Dreamer and Dior Homme are easily recognizable and distinct notes.

They are indeed different, but share a vibe here and there. Which is why I haven't made up my mind about Mugler's "Pure Havane", because I don't think I need it that much, given that The Dreamer is so great as it is already. That, plus I get the idea, given many people's opinions here and elsewhere, that Pure Havane is very, very light (have smelled it only once, tried a bit on the skin, but have never worn it throughout a day.)
