New Fragrance: Jo Malone Wild Bluebell

From nstperfume.com:

Jo Malone will launch Wild Bluebell in September. The new fragrance for women reportedly heralds a radical change of direction for the brand under new creative director James Gager (also of MAC and La Mer).

Wild Bluebell was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel, and features notes of bluebell, clove, lily of the valley, rose, jasmine, white amber and musk.

Jo Malone Wild Bluebell will be available in 30 and 100 ml Cologne and in matching body products.

Oh, my beating heart! I'm lusting after this already. Just the idea of it. I hope it's not a clove monster.

"White amber" you say? Nagel used "blond amber" in Guerlain With Love, and I've been waiting to see that used again anywhere. I wonder if it's considered virtually the same element?

I share Lilybelle's clove apprehension, but let's hope our fears are unfounded.

Knowing that Saks carries JM, and that we'll be visiting Saks in New Orleans come November, this gives me/us something new to put on the to-sniff list … with the potential of making a purchase of a bottle as souvenir.

Thanks for the happy news, Joe. Why dontcha meet up with me and Lilybelle at the perfume counter in fall?

Oooohhh ! Yay ! Really looking forward to testing this one out.

It basically shares the first five notes with Penhaligon's Bluebell. I hope it will be a bit more wearable than the Penhaligon's, whose clove is overwhelming on my skin.

Maybe we can do a sampling group, if our Nordstrom will let me have enough samples. There should be samples... it doesn't look like it's supposed to be a limited edition, given the 2 sizes and the matching body products.

Exactly what I was thinking!

I also hope it's easier to wear than Penhaligon's Bluebell, which I like at times and then sometimes I don't like it at all, too harsh.

Yes, on the "to test" list it goes, Quarry!

I can't wear Penhaligon's either. A clove monster on my skin. But I'm in love with the packaging.

I just hope it's powerful... Jo M's creations tend to be pale waifs on my skin, barring the amber one. I for one would love an intense, cool, clovey floral.

I am hoping that is the meaning of "heralds a radical change of direction for the brand".

Oh -- happy heart! (And not the Clinique version.)
