Gala Re-Issue for Feuille Verte (Green Leaf)
June 3rd, 2011
In addition to new CREED Royal-Oud, new CREED Original Cologne and new CREED White Flowers, clients this fall will have another choice in hand-crafted fragrance. CREED Feuille Verte (or Green Leaf) will make a gala return to the US in November in very limited quantity exclusively at this site, at CREED at 794 Madison Avenue at 67th Street in New York (1.877.273.3344) and at special events at a handful of select luxury department stores across the US that carry CREED. Originally presented in the US in 2006, Feuille Verte celebrates the country life of master perfumer Olivier CREED in Fontainebleau, France, where he lives, rides and, of course, creates fragrance in a world renowned workshop down a hidden country lane with his son, Erwin, alongside. The fragrance evokes green leaves after the rain, newly cut grass and fresh earth in notes of mandarine, lime, oakmoss, vanilla, Bulgarian rose and absolute of jasmine. Crown Prince Felipe of Spain received the first bottle in 2006. This fall, just three hundred and fifty 8.4 ounce decanters of Feuille Verte will come to the US. Offered separately will be a color-matched 1.7 ounce leather-wrapped CREED shatterproof atomizer. If you have not already, please sign up for CREED’s free e-newsletter here to receive first word of the arrival of these exciting items

Call Luis at the NYC Boutique and reserve a flacon. He'll call you when FV is in. 212-439-7777.

Oh great. Be still my beating heart.

I can see the threads stacking up in Basenotes already.

"How many spritzes of Feuille Verte?"
"There seems to be inconsistency in batches of Feuille Verte..."
"I'm about to buy my first Creed should I buy Feuille Verte?"
"Feuille Verte or Aventus?"
"I get 8 hours longevity from Feuille Verte..."
"I get 8 minutes longevity from Feuille Verte"
"Does Feuille Verte attract women"

And so on and so on and so on...

OMG - how did you do that? You're accurately predicting the future!

LOL

No matter how much I look forward to sniffing this, I have to admit that this is EXACTLY what will happen.

*cackle, cackle*

Just keep telling yourself that it may smell no better than [insert least favorite Creed here]. Which may very well be the truth.

I'm excited, but realistic. I may very well not like it. I tend not to like the green Creeds. Even GIT only captures me on the citrus fougère aspect - not the greenery. But I know that people love this one, so I'm approaching it with an open mind.

---------------

It couldn't have been THAT hard. After all, few other brands, if any, have this notorious reputation for unsubstantiated claims, made-up credentials, and wild, bordering-on-irresponsible product inconsistency.

However, the post was fun to read, granted (-:

On a more serious note, reading the old BaseNotes reviews, this seems to be at least worth a sniff, provided the brand didn't screw up a good thing yet again.

Excellent point. This would definitely be the time for a batch at least as good as the original. With thoughts of Windsor I and Windsor II in mind, as well as the notorious second-run Aventus with bashful pineapple, it might be good to have this run of FV be the holy grail batch.

Does anyone know the estimated pricing?

$605.00.

I put my name on the list for this but I'm definitely ordering a sample from The Perfumed Court first.

The original was very good.

Even though I'm not a fan of the original, it was a truly excellent, uber high quality fragrance. It'll be a testament to the house's shred of remaining integrity, if they can actually meet or exceed the quality of the first batch.

Such a bargain. Such generosity.

Are they using Feuille Verte as a loss leader?

For a supposedly "royal" company they sure like hell behave like ruthless carpetbaggers.

After owning, wearing, and ultimately selling it, I'd now be far more enthusiastic about receiving any number of fragrances under $75.

There isn't nearly enough performance in Feuille Verte to justify any price beyond the average Creed at discount prices.

Which Creed did it come closest to, in your opinion? I could see buying a bottle with the thought of selling it if I was disappointed, but frankly I don't want to waste the time. If it's closer to Green Valley or Original Vetiver than the things I love, I'll probably just save the money.
