I just recently ordered a sample of SDV from Guerlain and Un Bois Vanille from Serge Lutens and I am looking for a creamy vanilla fragrance.

Can I get at least three suggestions from you guys?

I love Un Bois Vanille for the price. If money is no object purchase Guerlain SDV. Tonka Imperiale is definitely worth a sniff as well.

I'm confused. You really don't consider Un Bois Vanille expensive?

Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille is my go-to vanilla treat. It is so, so fine. I am about to spring for Tonka Imperiale. And even Creed Sublime Vanille is calling my name. Guess I'm on a vanilla binge, eh?

isn't Chanel Egoiste long discontinued? The chanel boutique here doesn't even have it. I keep on hearing people suggesting it, unless they are referring to platinum egoiste.

No DAX it isn't discontinued. Where, within a couple hundred miles or so, are you?

Another couple where the vanilla used is perhaps not so "too much of a good thing":

Shalimar Ode a la Vanille (Guerlain)
Vanille Galante (Hermes)

A vanilla centered fragrance that is actually good--that's a tough one. I'd recommend Caron pour un Homme though you must like lavender or perhaps something a little drier like Patou's discontinued Ma Liberte.

Just sampled Spiriteuse Double Vanille and there was nothing other than vanilla extract on my skin. This has been the best recreation of vanilla on my skin but nothing else! I gotta say I am disappointed.

D&G The One is a nice little vanilla based scent that's widely available and not too pricey. Tobacco Vanilla is a perfect fragrance, but I wouldn't necessarily classify it as a vanilla scent or recommend it for someone looking for vanilla -- it's more off on its own.

I'd agree that you could do a lot worse than Caron Pour Un Homme.
