Trip to Scentbar coming up! Need suggestions for INTERESTING and unique perfumes!

Hi everyone,

I may make a Scentbar run this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions for some really unique fragrances they can recommend I try? As always, I am looking for something dark, vampy, and gothic.

The fragrances I already own that most fall into that category are:
Tom Ford Black Violet
Serge Noire
Absolue Pour Le Sour

I don't care that summer is coming up, I am still hunting for dark, smoky, ashy, cathedral, vampish devastating scents! : ) I also like trying things that are just plain weird.

Right now I am planning on Czech & Speake No. 88 or CDG Avignon.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

Try out the Parfums de Nicolai in the new intense strengths.

Don't limit yourself to anything! Smell anything that catches your fancy...and do report back here when you are finished!

Have fun...this is like a candy shop for perfume fans.

The SAs are so cool. Rachel is a total sweetheart. It's a bit busy in there on Saturdays and it can get claustrophobic - the good part is it'll give you many opportunities to test spray at your own pace.

Not all of them are smoky/ashy, but these are the scents that come to mind. All of them should be available at Scent Bar (they are on their website, anyway).

Thanks for all of the great suggestions everyone! Yes- Rachel is great. I was there once before and there was a perfume I wanted. She couldn't find it anywhere but refused to stop looking for it. She literally knocked herself out digging for this- she actually worked up a sweat. And she found!! : ) I agree about the claustrophobic thing, but its a small price to pay!! : )

1234- funny you mention Samsara. I purchased a perfume the other day at a shop and as I left I knew I should have gotten the Samsara instead. Luckily this place does exchanges so I think that is what I am going to do. The BN reviews are not very kind to Samsara, but I don't care, I think its a buttery, sultry indulgent divine pleasure! It actually reminds me a lot of Givenchy's Irresistable, but I like Samsara better as I find it smoother. And I love the name "Purple Love Smoke"! I HAVE to try that!!

So no purchases at Scentbar today. Some of the suggestions in this thread I sampled were:

Domenico Caraceni 1913
1000 Flowers Reglisse Noire
-Annick Goutal Mandragore Pourpre
L'Artisan Tea for Two
Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland

I ended up making my purchases at Barney's. Picked up Musc Ravageur- finally I got to see what all the hype was about. Definitely a love at first sniff and I picture myself draining this bottle very quickly. Also got my Avignon. I came away with samples of some other Frederic Malle's that I liked: Angeliques Sous La Pluie, Une Rose, Noir Epices and Dans Tes Bras. All in all a successful trip and a gorgeous LA day!! : ) Many thanks to all for the great suggestions!
