Mugler Cologne

Hi there! I just bought this great scent (i'm a male, 16) It's my scent when I go to school. However I feel that the projection and longevity is quite weak. For the people that have smelt it, how far away are you able to smell it from? For the people that use(d) this cologne, how many sprays do you usually use, and where do you apply it? Also what is your usual longevity with it?

Thanks, and hope you can answer my questions!

Don't spray it on the front of your neck otherwise your nose will get used to it and you won't be able to smell it - back of the neck is fine. If you spray on clothing the scent will last much longer. Spray the inside of the elbows.

I'll start spraying the back of the neck. I spray on the front of the neck though because of the two pulse points there. Inside elbows sound okay, however I still would like to know more places to spray (especially on clothing) and the longevity & projection of this scent. I don't really think people notice the scent O_o. Thank you though!

Mugler Cologne i go heavy on the trigger, about 15 to 20 sprays.
The results are satisfatory (6~8 hours of longevity, medium sillage)

I love this scent but I had the same experience with it. It wasn't olfactory fatigue. People around me couldn't smell it either and I always asked. Then I thought I might be anosmic to it but I doubt that many people could be anosmic to the same scent.
I'm beginning to think it may have to do with how fresh or old the stock is too.

I use 3-4 sprays with this one like I do with every scent I own.

Brilliant!!

I dread to think what a party or bar smelled like in the 70's... A room full of Charles Bronsons after they'd poured a full bottle of Mandon, Brut or Hai Karate over themselves!! You wouldn't need to drink or take drugs to get high at one of those parties!!

This is pretty much the same problem with me.

it is a cologne after all, and so won't last as long or project as much as EDT's or EDP's...

If you spray Mugler Cologne on clothes it will last eternity. It's spooky actually. It lasts longer than you think too, other people can still smell me with 4-5 sprays

Really? Do you also spray on the skin? Also, where do you spray on the clothes?

Spray the upper chest, then from the outside of the shirt, tap the area with the palm of your hand so it blots up the cologne. You can also do the stomach and upper back in the same manner, but test out the chest area first. Avoid doing this with white shirts, but otherwise you should be OK. You can even do the back of the knees, but that's kind of overdoing it.

Mugler and Creed Original Vetiver are quite similar smelling, but OV is significantly more $.

Okay, thanks a lot! I think I'll go with sprays to the inner elbow, back of neck, upper chest, and upper back from now on. See if I can get people smelling with this

I've heard that Paul Smith Story is similar. I haven't tried either scent yet (just got my sample of mugler cologne in the mail and waiting on a warm sunny day) so don't take my word for it. Also, +1 on spraying the back of your neck. You don't get olfactory fatigue as easy and when you hug a girl, her face ends up right there where you sprayed.
