Game: Guess the Fragrance by the Picture!~ PART 3 - Page 9

OK, here's a new puzzle. Fragrance name only:

I will start the guessing with John Player Special

Nope! I will say that there is something that connects the three pictures.
Hmmm... no bites? I wasn't sure if this would be too easy or too hard. Time for another clue?

The answer is a two-word fragrance. Each of the three items depicted can be described by those two words.
Back from work late.

I am thinking Haunani but not getting the association yet.
I'm going to go with Classic 1920 by Bois 1920.

It IS!!! Evangeline has nailed it!!! Very good solve.

We have a classic children's book that was first published 1920, a man in a classic suit from the 1920's, and a classic car (1920 Stutz Series H Bearcat).
Excellent solve evangeline! Beauty of a puzzle Haunani!
Me? Yippeeeee!!!

Thanks Haunani - great puzzle! Thanks kbe!

What fun! Let's have another one!!
Evangeline, wonderful solve as always. I did look at the puzzle yesterday but I did not even know where to start.
Just a quickie to hold everyone over until the next puzzle maker has one to post:

Fragrance only

Hmmm... how about

Essentials for Men by Rexona or

We're for Men by Shiseido or

Only for Men by Julio Iglesias

???

All good guesses Haunani. Keep aiming in that general direction.
I'll finish out my "for men" guesses:

Design for Men by Paul Sebastian or

Space for Men by Cathy Carden or

Structured for Men by Avon

???

Of course, now I'm wondering if "aim" and "direction" are clues! :-)

There's also a fragrance called Go Boy by Cam'ron.

They are clues, in a general way they could assist in leading to the answer. Go Boy could definitely be considered closely associated with it.
Kouros, or so I heard.
Kouros? Ha! That does take the cake! Not Kouros however.

hint: If one looks carefully the answer, or at least a part of it, can be found somewhere in this very sentence, in one form or another.
So you thought this would be an easy one, Mr. K???

How about

Pour Lui by Galimard

???
Well..I thought it was an easy one. But then again, I know the answer.

Not Pour Lui Haunani. Take another look at my last hint, at the one thing I mentioned and should come to mind.
I looked at loo, can, john... I'm baffled here!
Think about the pic and the numerical implication (or the numerical implication..um..raised by the hints--no, not the number of urinals), and you already have the Pour part of the puzzle correct.
Sheesh! I finally got it. Had to be led by the hand to the little boys' room. ;-)

No 1 pour Homme, by Stitch Perfumes!

Has to be, yes? Hilarious!!!
Le Male JPG -Could be one answer for the puzzle too(without the pour word)!

You got it Haunani! No.1 Pour Homme by Stitch Perfumes. Too bad Islands In The Stream isn't a frag name..

Himalayan Blue

Himalayan Blue
Hey, sophi! That's a lovely guess. But this picture was taken in warmer climes.
One of those words is correct though. And I guess I should have mentioned it's a two-word fragrance.

A lonely puzzle on Christmas?

How about Nautica Blue by Nautica?

Merry Christmas Aiona!
Merry merry Christmas, Riannon! It's been so long since I played this game, I didn't know if anyone did anymore!

Nautica Blue could very well be an answer. But it wasn't the two word fragrance I had in mind. if it helps at all, the picture was taken on the beach at Prachup Khiri Khan, Thailand.
Blue Rush (Avon)?
How nice!!! Merry Christmas/Holidays to all{ Riannon, Aiona--and musse who snuck in while I was editing!, Sophi. Good to see this Thread getting some ink and some familiar names of crafty players once again in action.

Yaughtman Blue?

Boats = yacht(s) {archaic: yaught(s)}, Rock formation looks like a man on his back in the water, blue everywhere.

Jacomo Deep Blue?

Aiona, I have not played in more than a year but it seems we are all coming home for Christmas
How wonderful to see you all again! Merry Christmas sophi, musse, kbe and hednic.

All those islands...could this be a lagoon? As in Blue Lagoon by Mel Merio?

Hi, musse! hednic! KBE!

Gosh, those are all good answers. But still not quite what I had in mind. Y'all got the color I was thinking of though.

Fragrance name.
Two words.
One word is obviously "blue."
I trust we all had a wonderful Christmas!

Just firing off some guesses here. Aquamarine Blue or Blue Riviera?

But perhaps Aiona is toying with us and although 'blue' is correct it is correct in another language. So..
Bleu Pacifique or L'Heure Bleue?

We had a weird one. First it snowed, which meant I had to cancel my brunch party. Then husband threw up. So I was glad we canceled the party. Then I spent the rest of the day chilling with the wee ones. Twas good.

Y'all are gonna kill me. I did a search in the fragrance directory (which I should have done *before* I posted the puzzle) and in Basenotes it's listed as a three word fragrance.... :S

The first word is the house name. I didn't realize Basenotes lists it as part of the fragrance name.

Now, the thought crossed my mind. Just a split second, mind you

Still can't find something that directly matches blue/boats/water except that Nautica frag (Nautica Bermuda Blue) But you say the photo is taken in Thailand. Which is a paradise, in my opinion. So, let's try MCM Blue Paradise

Oh, golly, Riannon. You've got two of the words in your comment alone!
Just the house is missing....

I mostly mentioned the locale to let Sophi know that it wasn't the Himalayas.

It's a male fragrance, by the way.
Three words.
First word is the house.
Pretty much established that one word is "blue." (No, I'm not doing the lingua franca on you, kbe.)

Don't worry Aiona, you are perfectly safe

Does that mean it is Gammon Blue Water? The one I dismissed because 'Gammon' made me think of gammon steak?
OK I think I might be on to something, at least I hope so because nothing else I try seems to make sense. I somehow remember reading Thailand beat China in an Adidas Challenge. Weak attempt at best but.....

Adidas Blue Challenge? (The Chinese team was wearing blue uniforms ya know..)

I found something about that:

kbe, that there demostrates why your puzzles are so devious, because you think deviously! I am not capable of that level of devious. My puzzle was tricky only because of my carelessness!

Yes! Blue Water was it. Gammon Blue Water, as listed in the directory. I had to look up what a gammon steak was, after that, and I could have posted a picture of that too, as we had a ham for Christmas!

Your turn, if you wish, Riannon!
AhHA! Riannon gets the ring. I was off in space somewhere, viewing Asian Soccer way too closely through the Hubble Space Telescope.

LOL! Well, if it's the Chinese you're watching, we may need the Hubble Telescope someday!

Thanks Aiona! Oh dear, did we take the scenic route KBE, come out of orbit please.

New puzzle, fragrance please.

I will not be here for some hours. It is late, so goodnight from Europe.

Good morning! Mousie dearest, what were you doing in the wee hours of the morning? Way past your bedtime

You are all going into the right direction but kbe comes closest to what I want to hear.
Hints: go back to the roots of perfume and don't think in the English language.
Good afternoon, Riannon!

The insomniac musse gives it another try with Angelique Encens.
The smoke somehow makes me think of an angel s wings.
Thread Starter
Eva, try that hot chocolate/Cointreau/cream recipe. Sooo good for insomniacs.

Hmm, one of my favourite frags, that Angelique Encens but it is not the right answer. You got the language right though: the name is in French.

Next hint: two words (and I checked the Directory)
Will try that for tonight - absolutely!!

Parfum d`Or? (or maybe that counts as three words...)
Thread Starter
Don't forget: very liberal dose of Cointreau. You will sleep like a baby (or be drunk as a skunk)

Parfum d'Or would indeed be three words, sorry.

Take a good look at that picture: what do you see, where could this be.
The perfume house is very well known, one of the most distinguished although they reformulated a bit too much to my taste.

kbe's answer being Holy Smoke, I thought it did look like the little ball the priest swings around in Midnight Mass. So I'd guess Messe de Minuit, but prepositions are words too, right?
Thread Starter
Yes Aiona, it is a thurible, used for burning incense during church ceremonies. Not only during the Midnight Mass.
Prepositions are most certainly words as well

Keep kbe's answer in mind.
