Game: Guess the Fragrance by the Picture!~ PART 3 - Page 11

Dead end here. Hint...?

Is the figure descending one thing or the exact opposite? Three words in French. You could put a question mark behind the name of the fragrance.

Extra hint: Audrey Hepburn was the muse of the founder of the House.

Extra hints are extra nice. Ange ou Démon (?)by Givenchy?

Mais oui, mon cher ami

Oy, I made this one a teensy bit too difficult ::hangs head in shame:: Will retreat to a dark BN corner for a while.

Absolutely not! I tried the angel/ange search early on and somehow overlooked Ange ou Demon on the list otherwise it would have rang a loud bell, remembering the pic. Very good puzzle, and the pic does tell the story!

Ah, that explains it Sigh of relief. So, I can safely crawl out of my corner again and go to bed without a guilty conscience?

Goodnight from Europe!

Ah, that was a good one, Riannon!

Just out of curiosity, I have to ask, where is the image from?

Thanks Aiona.

I found the image as a desktop wallpaper without a name of the artist. Would not be surprised if it was taken from a computer game.
Riannon that pic reminds me of myself, sans wings, coming down the stairs in the morning when I know the coffee is yet to be made.

I am okay with tight fitting hooded black pyjamas but coming down the stairs, brandishing a sword...I mean, it was only coffee
Oh alright, I will make it earlier tomorrow.

Not the answer I am looking for Riannon.

hint #1: you are correct in that the answer is two words.
Thread Starter
Pity it is two words, I rather liked Cofinluxe

Ex Voto?

Overwhelming participation again I suggest we do our puzzles by mail.
Some guesses: Royal Copenhagen, Viktor&Rolf, Henrik Vibskov?
No one has it yet.

hint #2: The answer is in English
hint #3: The character shown is a cartoon version of one in a famous play (obvious I would think)
hint #3: One (rather abstruse) word of the answer could describe the mindset of the protagonist

How about Lord's Jester? After all, Yorick was the court jester.

Excellent guess Riannon but Yorick is secondary to the character the pic's image represents and knowing who is necessary in order to get to the correct answer.

hint #4: one of the words of the answer describes the play's protagonist's general station/class in fictional life.

Royal Apothic seems abstruse enough to me to describe the mindset of prince Hamlet

That's all for tonight.

WINNAH!!!!

Apothic, for those interested viewers who may be studying this Thread in some future era for humanity's benefit, has as one of its definitions: Apothic--depressed, melancholic.

Well now, you made that look easy!
So happy to see this thread revived. Strangely enough, today I am using a hand cream from Royal Apothic. For the first time! Must be a sign, no?

I just did a search on how easy/difficult it is to solve this puzzle and I think you might need some extra information.

Clue needed for the first picture. Only the man is of importance here.
The man is Max Ernst. That is all the time I have to research until tonight though.

how about Immortal Mine?

Checkmate Immortal Mine is the answer! Well solved.

Just curious: would you have guessed it without the picture of Max Ernst? I could not find that chess set in a google search without his name.

Riannon you happened to hit on a hobby of mine: chess. I have been playing since my pre-teens and have an extensive chess library. The set is a famous one to those who devour chess related items/news/arts. Once recognized as the famous work of Max Ernst: "Immortel", the puzzle fragrance name I considered a good match was not hard to located in the directory. So the answer is I didn't need the picture clue you so generously provided but anyone without my knowledge of that particular chess set most likely would have.

In other words, I got lucky!

Thanks hednic!

* and did you know that we have at least one chess International Grandmaster who is a Basenoter(from the USA)?--and it certainly isn't me. I'm a patzer...

I knew it was your hobby, we have been talking about it and it was the reason I put up this picture. But I became uncertain about the fame of the set when a serious lifelong Max Ernst admirer (one of our past players) did not know about it

It feels good to get lucky sometimes, no?

I know kbe won, but before he can post another incredibly hard one, here's one that might be fairly easy:

Lonestar Memories

Aiona, this is an equal opportunity game. The winner is not obliged to make the next puzzle, so everyone can join in

On your puzzle: Dream Come True by America's Next Top Model / Animale Temptation Man by Animale Parfums / \tLe Beau Male by Jean Paul Gaultier / Denim Musk by Denim / Man Blue by Sans Soucis...(I only just started).

You did say those dreaded words: "fairly easy" hmm

Good guess, docluv45. You're on the right track! I'll admit the answer is not Lonestar Memories, but it *is* two words.

Okay. Maybe it's not as easy as I thought.

Here's another hint: It's a job.
OK, just remembered this great ad and have to post it here...What would she be wearing ?

I don't know if this is a job but, Sex Pistols?

Hi Pulse. We are not ignoring you but it is one puzzle at a time. You are next after Aiona's puzzle is solved.

I looked for that yesterday, docluv45, but those Jolly Rancher fragrances are 4 and 5 words. Aiona said: 2 words. Pity.

Perhaps Mustang Man by Mustang Fragrances? Does not really sound like a job either though
post #645 of 655
For the woman with the Hendrix tattoo, "Experiences".

I'm dumbstruck on the model/cowboy.

My apologizes for answering late. I keep getting called away. Between taking care of a newborn, and being on call at work 24/7 I never really have a full moment to compose an answer.

Not Mustang Man. But.... well, kinda close.

No, but again, it's close. I mean, here's a hint. What makes you say "rodeo," hednic? And why "Mustang," Riannon? There's something missing from the picture, yes?

Nope, not 10 West, kbe.

There's something one kind of expects to be in the picture, but isn't. Right?
I can imagine lots of things that are missing. Horse, saddle, arena, cattle, rope, background but nothing seems to click.

Saddle Warmer is my weak attempt for tonight.

Because we are thinking of a horse. Well, he is missing his shirt as well, but that is a dead-end street.

I have tried everything with horse/cheval/Pferd/equus/caballo/kuda/cavalo and the only things that comes close is Cavalli Man.

Whoa Nellie!! So, the stud is a Saddle Warmer eh? That was desperation on my part! Thank you Aiona, and you have officially forfeited the right to say MY puzzles are difficult, my dear.

As far as a Pulse is concerned, we may no longer have one. Is it...
