Dear Basenoters,

Yet another I have hardly any info on and was wondering what people think of this fragrance?

Many thanks,

Koala.

I sampled this last week. The notes made me curious to sample. Let's just say it was mediocre.

Topnote: Pepper, Elemi, Ivy

Heartnote: Fig, Frankincense

Basenote: Benzoin, Musk, Vetiver, Vanilla Bean

Sorry guys - Pleasant just isn't good enough anymore.

Thanks Beck,

Ivy, mmmm..... Fig I can get along with. Anyone else?

Although I haven't seen it readily available in the USA yet, it was picked up for me overseas more than a month ago. IMO it's a nice scent, but you have to love fig.

Hednic, Can you compare this fragrance to anything else out there?

Koala501. I can. It is a near match to Kenzo Jungle. In fact, sprayed each on separate strips and could not tell the difference!

I have it, it's a dry pencil-woody scent with a hint of incense. The fig note provides some interest and a degree of sweetness to balance the woods. Very pleasant and easily wearable but not earth-shattering.

Thanks Gents, I had been wondering about this.

Since my last post, I have worn it a few times and although I don't get the incense that others have mentioned, it is woody and not overpowering. I find it very pleasant to wear.

Jungle Pour Homme? Or Jungle?

Purchased this recently and can't decide how to categorize, smells similar to Caron's 'Fleur de Rocaille', guess it's the fig/ivy/violet leaf accord also gives off a strange meaty/body odour (beef stock/Oxo) resembling exotic eastern elements of elemi, pink pepper & savory herbs used to marinate game flesh. (venison/kangaroo) I certainly wouldn't rave about it although it is most unusual & decidedly different, especially for 'Pierre Balmain'.
PS. The spray nozzle on my bottle tends to leak slightly due to a smaller than usual tab, doubt if I'd repurchase.

Only had one spritz so far and enjoyed it quite a bit. Sweet but in a pleasant way and I believe I'm quite partial to fig. Not sure about longevity yet.

I'd be curious how long it lasts on you. I get average to above average longevity. I love fig also.

The notes on this sound very intriguing but the mixed reviews give me pause. From the notes, I am imagining something that would land on the fragrance spectrum between "Avignon"/"Cardinal" and "Gucci Pour Homme" (2003). Does anyone know how it compares to those 3? Or is that triangulation way off base?

Very disappointing fragrance for me. Weak and characterless. The elemi note dominated for me, (a sharp lemon/pepper smell). I was hoping for a lot more, coming from this house.
