Do you wear fragrances in your house? - Page 2

Like everyone else here, I always wear frags at home.
Well hell yes I do. I usually wear a variety of fragrances throughout the day. Start with one before I leave the house, have a short refresher spray after lunch, shower and change fragrance when I come home, and maybe a nice spray of something cozy before bed. Add one more if it's a gym day. Shower = another opportunity to apply scent. I hardly ever wear more than two sprays of anything, which keeps it all fairly subtle. I mean, it would be horrible to develop a reputation as "cologne guy," right?

Yes, I don't want to absolutely stink of cologne.

Wow this thread has lots of replies. Most people saying yes.
Yes absolutely! I wear fragrances 24/7. If I get up in middle of night to use restroom, I will reapply one spray as well.
I wear even to go to bed!

I disagree. People who are not like Basenoters are just not normal IMO

And yes, I do wear fragrances at home. Its the best time to do so, actually.
What Surfacing said - the best time to wear scents are at home ! You can wear what you like ,when you like . A pleasure
post #68 of 110
Call me vain if you will, but I wear scent for my own enjoyment and not for others'. I do tend to stick to some of my more odd or "in your face" scents around the house- I'm talking skanky musks and such...Things that run a higher risk of bothering others. Samples, too, so that there's plenty of sinks/soap around in case I get a scrubber!
yea this question really defines why one wears fragrance.

for those who think it's a "waste" to wear frags at home, then clearly you only use fragrance as a way of getting attention from others when you are out in public.

for those who enjoy fragrances alone at home... congrats, you are true appreciators and conoisseurs of fragrance as art.

that actually makes you the opposite of vain.

vain would be those who only wear fragrances to draw attention to themselves in public, IMO.
Absolutely. I wear them all the time, every day.

+1. Although I've never woken up at night to reapply Anyone guilty?
Yes I do.
Most people I know think this is a weird thing to do though.
A friend of mine once asked me when I was staying over at his house "are you wearing a fragrance?" I told him I was and he asked me "Why?"
He thought it was really weird to wear a fragance just hanging around the house.

Oh yeah.

I think that living in fear of an imagined response to you would be worse, to be honest.

I went into a West Midlands charity shop today, having forgotten about the Jicky I'd slathered on this morning (EDT and EDP) & was only reminded when one of the staff waltzed through the place going 'Ooooooooooooooooooohhh, someone smells nice in here!'
Absolutely. I wear it primarily for my enjoyment.

Hopefully my perfume choices don't annoy/nauseate others when I'm out. I never wear perfume on a flight (I always travel cattle-class) as I don't like to inflict my choice on others at such close quarters for a prolonged period of time. But at home, always.

Like freshly laundered bedding, its a small luxury.

As for being known as the "cologne guy", far worse things to be known for. When it comes down to it, as long as its not causing a nuisance, no one is really that bothered or interested.

A quick spray of Musc Kublai Khan before bed is just what the doctor ordered!

I do agree with teardrop though, fragrances do not do well with hangovers (I actually tried it once and made it such that I could no longer wear that fragrance without feeling ill).

That's kinda funny. The same happened to me with Tommy Bahama's South Seas. I loved it until the that and now I haven't been able to wear it for over a year. Every time I try I get mildly nauseous, although that effect has been slowly diminishing. I'm hoping that one day it will not.

As to the OP - Absolutely wear at home. Some I only were at home.

i frickin wear it to bed. today i wore some to go swimming which was just retarded. any excuse to spritz it on.
Of course I wear fragrance in my house! How could I not? It would be a waste of all that glorious juice just to let the bottles sit there all alone in the dark; now that would be truly selfish.
Yep, I usually do. I wear perfume for my own pleasure, not for others, so I see it as an appropriate use of resources.
Yes! It's the best place to try new ones and enjoy old favorites.
24/7.
Affirmative
Always.
Without fail.
After my evening shower right before bed. Smelling a nice fragrance on myself relaxes me. Some people just don't get it though..."you wear cologne to bed?"

That would imply that I don't take enjoyment in it myself, which is nonsensical.

Hehe lady at a bar last nite had the same reaction when I told her I wear cologne to bed "what's the point? you are crazy!" ... not exactly hard to understand. especially when i wear cheap stuff to bed. after all i'm only smelling the opening and the tail end of the drydown...
Yes, most definitely. An hour or 2 before I go to bed, and/or after each shower (due to our weather, 2 showers a day is not uncommon), I have the habit of spraying something on. I enjoy the routine leading up to the choosing and spraying. Simple pleasures..
I wear a fragrance for myself, so yes I often "wear" more than 3,4 fragrances at a time while i'm at home.
Always wearing frags at home. First one is applied in the morning, after a shower. When I come home from work I usually put on another fragrance or reapply the same one as in the morning.
And after a late shower, I'll put some on before going to bed. I live together though, so it's not just me who enjoys it. But I would do the same if I was on my own.

Guilty!!
I do...after a shower I put on nautica voyage and on weekends I put on some dirty English. I don't put on high dollar frags at home to me that would be a waste but that's my opinion.
Of course why not
I wear samples I haven't tried before! I find it a good chance to test scents longevity.
Like everyone else. YES!
Yes, I do. I especially enjoy wearing classic ladies' fragrances when home alone
post #98 of 110
Yes. I try new things at home before wearing them in public/work etc.

I would think with over 1,000 bottles in your collection, surely you have the juice to spare

I consider it a waste to NOT wear scent at home. How else will I ever use all these wonderful scents?
Hells yeah! I wear fragrances as much for myself as for the world - so home is fair game. Nothing better than to come home after a long day, take a shower (in the shower) and then shower myself with something from my collection.
Wearing scents at home is not a waste at all for me. Infact that's were I can enjoy and explore them the most. I feel a bit weird constantly sniffing my self in public...

Above all else I wear fragrances to enjoy for my own pleasure. At home is the best time for this.
Always. Was wearing some Bleecker Street yesterday while cleaning the house
post #105 of 110
Sometimes I even wear too much fragrance around the house, e.g. right now, having had a shower, spraying Lapidus Pour Homme, having forgotten how strong this is.
Yep, I wear my favourite noname soapy drugstore aftershave, but please don't tell anybody

Regards, Odor.
sorry, double posting
I do yes.
I wear whatever I feel like for work and when I come home, I have a shower and wear another fragrance for relaxing at home. I always carry an atomizer with me while I am out. Nothing beats a nice refreshing spray at lunch time or whenever.

Even on days were I just stay at home, I wear fragrances.
When I am at home I usually spray one frag in each wrist just to enjoy the smell. hahah
post #110 of 110
Yes, do you brush your teeth once in a while ?
