Does anyone have any suggestions which winter and fall niche fragrances would be good for someone who is 20 years old?

i'm new to the fragrances but i think other knowledgeable members will have easier time recommending if you tell us your other bottles, favourite note, price range etc.

I'm also pretty new to this as well. For my price range, I really don't have one. My current fragrances are Burberry London, Dior Fahrenheit, Bvlgari Aqva, Lacoste red, and Boss Energise. I really don't know what my favorite notes are. I don't have any niche fragrances but I have tried Amouage Jubliation XXV and Tauer L'air du desert Marocain. I liked Tauer L'air du marocain but I found XXV not really suitable for me.

De Nicolai's New York ($45/ounce) for a balance of citrus and woods in a superb woody oriental.

Lutens' Five O'Clock au Gingembre ($120/1.7 ounces) if you like tea and ginger.

Lutens' Gris Clair ($120/1.7 ounces) for fresh lavender against the backdrop of a bonfire.

J. Peterman's 1903 ($45/3.4 ounces) while I would wear this in warmer weather, many people I know consider this a fall/winter fragrance, a clean-cut green/leather scent.

You might want to check out some of the Parfumerie Generale offerings (i.e. Cozè, Intrigant Patchouli, Cadjmere, Musc Mahori, Aomassai). +1 on New York.

For a 20 year old I would recommend:

Coze
Parfumerie Generale Bois Blond
Spiritueuse Double Vanille
Ambre Narguile
Cruel Intentions
Penhaligon's Elixir
Chergui

I would recommend Ambre Narguille, Rose 31, and Chergui if I had to pick 3?... This is difficult cuz we don't know what you are willing to spend.

I would say Rose 31 would be your best bet, one of the most versatile fragrances out there. It really sings in hot and cold weather. Tobacco Vanille is another astounding fragrance. If you like edible gourmands, check out New Haarlem. Musc Ravageur gets alot of love, it didn't work for me though...

I am willing to spend whatever amount to get a excellent niche fragrance.

sorry I'm just being a dick. you should probably go out and sniff a few more. To get an idea of what you like.

Chergui would be great.

I love New York, but it's a very classical fragrance in construction and feel, with a strong formal side... and thus perhaps not the most appropriate choice for a 20 yo college student. Not that I am in general so hung up on age fragrance-wise, but the time of life in college is a crazier time of life, more informal and full of discovery, so something a bit less formal would be better.

Tobacco vanille sounds like a good option, but the price is a bit outrageous. Egoiste could also be an interesting choice, more affordable, but good for the colder seasons and doesn't smell dated at all with its gourmand side (although neither are strictly speaking niche).

+1 for Chergui, very nice scent for fall/winter. a warm sweet scent of honey and hay.
