Is there any better quality, more refined version of Obsession out there?

in some way, I find Solo Loewe an updated version of Obsession CK , with less nutmeg.

The limited-run Must de Cartier Eau Fine is the closest to CK Obsession for Men I have smelled. Much more refined and a tad quieter, i must add.

Really? I like Solo but find it closer to Mugler Cologne...because of the heady orange flower notes

Must de Cartier is like a refined version of Obsession along with Oak from men by Bath and Body Works.

Guerlain L'Instant shares that warm/cool feeling with Obsession, though the note themselves aren't very similar.

I say the original Solo , nothing to do with Solo Intense or Solo Pop.
maybe you are talking about one of the two last.

I have a friend who loves CK Obsession. I let him smell Bel Ami by Hermes and it reminded him of Obsession. He said that Bel Ami is a more refined and sophisticated upgrade. He got my bottle of Bel Ami. =)

Bel Ami? great on his own but different to obsession IMO. Your friend got a great deal anyway

Surprised nobody has mentioned YSL Opium yet. There have been a few threads I believe comparing the two with most people agreeing that Obsession is better from a nostalgic viewpoint but Opium is the better overall scent from an objective standpoint. I own and enjoy both and I'm in my mid-20s having missed the heyday of both scents

Opium Parfum (womens) is a somewhat similar kind of warm brown scent to Obsession for men.

I agree with the Opium comparison (vintage edt and specially the parfum concentration).
Opium is a rich Obsession (or Obsession is a cheap Opium?)

I can see how Bel Ami would conjure up images of Obsession.

I've often heard KL Homme compared to Obsession, as they are both sort of sweet, ambery scents from the same era (both are from 1986). I'm not a fan of Obsession, but I do like KL Homme.

In a certain way, even Obsession Night

interesting.

other opinions?

is there a winter perfume similar to ck obsession but just better?

I agree with the Opium Pour Homme and L'Instant Pour Homme recommendations.

When I wear L'Instant Pour Homme I get whiffs "Possesion". Which was a fake Obsession I got for Christmas when I was 9. So try L'Instant.

I've been told Chergui is similar to Obsession (which I've never smelled) and regardless of the similarities, it's amazing.
