New Fragrance: Chopard Noble Cedar

From fragrantica.com:

Chopards Noble line of fragrances emerged in 2010 when the elegant and masculine fragrance Noble Vetiver was presented, marking the 150th anniversary of the house. By the end of this year, it will be followed by the second fragrance of the line, named Noble Cedar. Noble Cedar is made to be a distinguished and refined fragrance for lovers of luxury, which exudes modern and urban elegance just as the previous edition does.

This woody and slightly spicy composition is created by perfumers Lucas Sieuzac and Nathalie Feisthauer, who focused on a unique cedar agreement. The top bursts with fresh tones of silver birch leaf, followed by the heart made of aromatic sage. Cedar wood combined with warm labdanum resin form the sensual base of this perfume.

Top notes: silver birch leaf
Heart: sage
Base: cedar, labdanum

The bottle design is signed by Suzanne Dalton. Chopard Noble Cedar is available as Eau de Toilette in quantities of 30, 50 and 80 ml.

I'm excited about this one. NV was rather nice.

This is the kind of scent I'm drawn to like a moth to flame, but they end up disappointing me too often. A well-done, simple, smooth, cool woody herbal scent would really hit the spot, and I hope Chopard can pull it off. I just hope the "warm labdanum resin" isn't marketer-speak for "shitty woody amber base."

Love the bottle.

Will be looking out for this one.

Witty response. What makes you say that? An assumption or?

This one will definitely be on my radar screen...

The Vetiver was ok, nothing special or anything. Maybe I will like this one better.

Can it possibly top Tumulte PH? Dear Lord, when I have a cedar jones, I grab that baby and the all my problems melt away.

As usual, petruccijc gives us the breaking news. Thanks!
I like "Noble" (an often misunderstood adjective; connoting **restraint**, poise, elegance, ease, an abundance of resources but skillfully deployed...) and Cedar sounds nice and woody.
Gee, do I have any hope for "Noble Pine" or "Noble Spruce"? ::fingers crossed::

I own Noble Vetiver, which essentially corresponds to Ody's description, and I would expect Noble Cedar to be along the same lines. I don't think Noble Cedar will be anything like Tumulte or other strong, woody fragrances. I expect it will be a light fragrance in which the cedar is tempered by the other ingredients. Cedar will still be the star of the show, but it won't hit you over the head. Well, maybe with a feather.

I haven't seen this one around yet. I'm assuming that all the shops here that carry Noble Vetiver will also get this. I'll post as soon as I get a chance to try it.

I have this which is a worthy successor to their first release in this series. Picked this up from their boutique in NY. It's akin to L'Occitane's Cedre if you are familiar with that, with good longevity.

I wonder how the longevity of this compares to that of Noble Vetiver?

I will have to consider these for sure.....I Love this bottle!!!

Thanks for sharing, as soon as it arrives in retails stores of my hometown, I might give it a try

I tried it on my wrist today.

It smells very very similar to Noble Vetiver but without the vetiver.

None if the notes listed above. They're well blended. Im sure many will be able to pick out the notes but they don't stand out.

Very nice. Longevity is excellent.

I was telling alfarom earlier that they created a base, like the guerlinade , in the former they added vetiver and in this cedar as depicted by the title. I'm not very familiar with cedar so I'm not the best to state whether it's as prominent in this as either was in Noble Vetiver.

Any more thoughts on this? I'm considering picking up a bottle of Noble Vetiver as that scent has slowly won me over (it's so understated and restrained that it is easy to miss its elegance!). I really love both of the perfumers for this one and am curious to try it but of course it's only available as a blind buy from a Chopard boutique in the US at the moment.

SoS, ironically I'd sent you a a parcel containing 10ml of Noble Vetiver, among other niche samples, which you never got. Funny.

Looks like you're meant to never smell it .
