Seriously. That covers scents as widely varied as Encre Noire, Aramis, Habit Rouge, and Yatagan ... Because skipping over the overused aquatic/marine/fresh scents still leaves a lot of room, it may help if you can describe some fragrance "notes" that you really enjoy, or some styles you like.

Maybe something you're even a bit intimidated to try? "Leather", "powder", and "iris" ranked only a little bit above "melon balls and cucumber pretending to be aquatic" on list of things to look for when I started, but it turns out that Knize Ten is still my number-one favorite.

It also depends on what style you are rocking. Are you a hipster dude goth hip hop rocker...what? Do you wear jeans and sneakers or boots and a collared shirt? What flavor are you proceeding to give the public?

A good scent has to go not only with your skin but with your persona.

He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood from DSquared2 may be a good fit for your needs. It is very versatile, smells great (and is not aquatic) plus it is not a sillage monster. It can be found in retail stores well within your budget, and online for below it.

If you like it, even $300 will be worth the price. If you don't like it, $20 would be a steep price to pay.

You can read a million recommendations and it would be less helpful than sampling 5 fragrances.

Agreed! Go online to the perfumed Court and purchase a sampler pack of various type scents and decide which ones you like the best (Leather, tobacco, Rose, Chypre, Gourmad, etc.). Then you can narrow it down to that group and we will give you 5 to 10 in the grouping to sample and you are guaranteed to come out the other side with a cent you will be happy with and use everyday.
