I have some Ernest Sewns I like a lot. And I'm surprised no one has mentioned APC's yet (they are the Creed of Styleforum).

I like Gap best, because their sizing is good for me. They run long, so the regular length usually works, and I really like that they make all sizes in Tall, even teeny sizes so if you are, like 00 you can still get them in tall - stick figure size, I'm not, but am about 5'9" and thin, which actually looks really good in tight jeans so I want them to FIT.

I used to like Levis but was pissed that they dropped Long inseam in every size smaller than 6. Eddie Bauer too, they do Medium Tall but not Small Tall. At Gap I don't even need Tall, they are skewed tall to begin with, and I'm not legitimately Tall anyway, just on the tall side of regular.

Well that is my rant and that's why I do like to buy jeans from Gap. 'Cause they fit and when on sale are affordable.

APC.

i have the following preferences:

- slightly slim, but never tight.
- straight legs or tapered.
- selvage.
- i prefer raw denim, sometimes a special wash can be nice too.
- legs trimmed so they touch but not rest on the shoes.
- overall good quality, beautiful and lasting fabric.
- no weird colored stitches, patches, logo's, etc.

a clever design detail can be alright, but i prefer them plain and simple. what matters to me most is fit/shape and then quality. the brand isn't important to me, it just needs to meet my requirements. apc does that for me, so that's why i mentioned them.

Atelier la Durance.................Prescott selvage is perfect for me.

Edwin E-47 rainbow selvage gives a beautiful fade, a little slim in the leg to be perfect.

I recently picked up some Agave Denim jeans and a couple shirts. ENTIRELY handcrafted in the USA! Sierra Trading Post has a lot of Agave clothing on sale for 50%+ off, and if you look for a coupon code you can get another 35% + free shipping. The items I got ended up being 70-80% off retail pricing...

As F'ed as we are in the USA right now, and as a ME specializing in manufacturing and assembly, I think it's a good idea to encourage businesses to operate here rather than outsource to China or Vietnam...

Diesel, Levi´s and Wrangler, but lately I am a fan of the high quality and excellent cut of H&M jeans (and how inexpensive they are!).

cheers

I try to avoid paying over a 100$ for jeans, my tactic is not owning many of them hehe. They are mostly Diesel, bought on sale, used, and a few are new.

As long as it fits well, that is what I care about most, so far Diesel fits perfect, and breaks in generously.

Hey man, can I ask your opinion on the Samurais and Sugar Canes? I've been drooling over the idea of getting a pair of Samurais for ages. Were they easy to break in, wash, etc? Also did you by any chance get a deal (in terms of price) on them anywhere?
Oh yeah, to answer the question, APC does the best price for quality for raw denim. The best fit for me has always been Rock and Republic, they just use the perfect blend of cotton and synthetic to make their jeans stretch just a little. I really like my Double RLs, great winter weight with a cool western finish. But I really want to get more into Japanese raw denim, hence the interest in Samurais, Sugar Canes, Iron Hearts, etc.

I dont know many famous brands but for my experience Levis is the best (never owned a Diesel to compare).

I have some American Eagle and Aeropostale, they are good for a fair price.

Sevens and Paige are my current fashion favorites.
j crew and the Gap work for work.
I need the 36" inseam! Levi's are too short in the rise. Joe's shrink too much.
I can't do a low rise, skinny leg or cropped denim style.

Currently only own jeans from Nudie and April 77. Hoping to get my first pair of APC jeans soon though.

I like Kenneth Cole Reaction jeans.

Also, skinny jeans are stupid.
Levis for me. Especially the rare limited edition ones. Currently into 510s and 511s

I wouldn`t say skinny jeans are stupid. It depends on your body type. They work well for some people but not so well on others. It also might not look good if someone who is especially thin wears them because they will exaggerate the thinness of the person wearing them.

Just picked up my first pair of David Bitton - really loving the slim leg boot cut. I've got fairly developed quads/hams and these are just the right fit on me - they show my legs off nicely without being tight, and without being too wide or too narrow in the calf region. I'm going to have to see if they make a 33 length though as the 32 is right at the threshold of minimum length on me (despite usually wearing 32 length).

I don't understand the extreme low rise of some jeans these days. Levis recently effed up their 505, dropping the rise 1/4 inch lower than the rise of a 514. When I sit, my belt ends up at my tailbone! Someday, when we look back on this era, this will be the stuff we make fun of.

Levi's are a lot like reformulated scents. Levi's keeps the same number (501, 505, etc) but they redesign the cut from time to time, just as scents get reformulated. And then, one day, you find yourself trying on a new pair of your favorite kind of jeans, and... what the heck? They're completely different. I won't be surprised if they redesign the cut of a 501 next year.

My holy grail jean would be very dark and very soft with a slim but not skinny cut and a rise that isn't too low. Oh, and zipper fly, not button fly. I like a button fly, but I prefer a zipper when I'm not at home. I don't like dealing with buttons at a urinal.

I tend to be a Levi's 501 guy but I also own a pair of 7s that I love.

I recently bought 3 pairs of Burberry Steadman slim fit jeans....I was hoping for a fit like Levi 511s, which I wear two sizes bigger than my actual waist for a slightly looser fit, and sag a little. Surprisinly enough they fit exactly how I wanted. I replaced all my favorite Levi's with Burberry Steadmans. I cant complain.
