I actually loved Both so much and I am thinking about buying 1 of them.
Both are around same price but they smell 100% different from each other.
I love the smell of sweet tea and vanilla in MIP & I love the smell sweet tobacco and caramel and honey in Pure Havane.
If you were the one buying ...... which one will you buy?? and what do you think about Pure Havane,s Projection and Longevity [I got only 4 hours]

If I bought Pure Havane ...Should I buy a Back Up bottle to use in the future or sell for high price??

Both great IMO. My choice for you would be: VC&A Midnight In Paris EDP
post #3 of 28
I agree that both are stellar, but I'd go with Pure Havane simply because it's going to be more difficult to procure. You can wait a bit on the MiP, since there seem to be plenty of bottles kicking around the discounters.

I prefer Pure Havane. The make-up note in MIP is too much for me (though I think it's a very good fragrance).
MiP first
& a fairly large decant sample of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (which is much better) just so you can make absolutely sure you wanna smell like sweet tobacco (in either case)

MIP (ETP) by far IMO
Not a PH fan. If I were given the choice between these two I would blind buy MiP.

I don't have problem with Pure Havane longevity. It just changes drasticaly from start to end from feminine sweet fruity accord (which I dislike) to typical A*Men patchouli base (which I love). MIP on the other hand smelled just like less interesting mix of Dior Homme and Bulgari Black to me.

IMO if you really want tobacco fragrance just get cheap bottle of Dreamer and save money for something else.

Pure Havane, and then buy Bulgari Black.

I'm going round in circles on this one but people keep saying that "Pure Malt," "Pure Havane," "Pure Coffee" are going to be their next buys, but where are these coming from?

Are people relying on Ebay, and other people in the fragrance community? I'd like to extend my interest if only to garner a greater appreciation of what all of the fuss is about, but I cannot find them available retail anywhere?!

I get conflicting views from friends, SAs, Internet rumours, Mugler employees directly, and I'd love a definitive answer either way, if there is one that is...

I've only tried the EDP of Midnight in Paris and thought it HEAVILY leaned on the feminine side of Unisex, Its like Dior Home with the make up and lipstick and an added frilly dress. Not good.
From this list, I'd suggest Pure Havane
Despite I really enjoy MiP, PH is a limited edition, therefore you should buy it right now, and then go for MiP later.
My vote was for Pure Havane, but not because it's the better of the two, simply because it's going to be the less common of the two fairly quickly.

Pure Havane is a sensational fragrance. Midnight in Paris is a good fragrance. I would get two bottles of PH before I even thought about getting MiP.

Maybe I need to retry it - this description sounds fantastic! Although I wonder if it will go with a simple black dress........

Are you talking about that Anne Klein black number you always love to wear to parties? You can wear any fragrance with that because you never keep the dress on long enough for anyone to get an impression anyway. That dress has been on more floors than your mop at home.

Are we discussing the MiP EDT or EDP?

Midnight in Paris EDP
-- it's like a crossbreed between Bvlgari Black and Dior Homme, but with tea heart note instead of iris.

Pure Havane
Midnight in Paris EDP : Bvlgari Black :: GIT : Cool Water

I'd still recommend Pure Havane, being limited edition and all. Pick up the MIP later.

Change the second option to the EdP and go with that.

From your top 12 list, I find it shocking that you don't love PH!
