The worst of the worst: Projection / Longevity

Thread Starter
As the title suggests, drop your fragrances that just have terrible longevity and horrendous projection.

The following made my list:
Versace Man Eau Fraiche sitting at 2 hours, with 1.5 hours stuck on skin
Lacoste Essential Sport
D&G The One
D&G The One Gentleman
As much as I love Gucci II, it's probably the weakest frag in my wardrobe for both projection and longevity.
Eau Mixte
Creed Royal Island Water and Virgin Island Water. I really like the pleasant softness of these scents but they just die on my skin and on my clothes they last not more than one hour.
Amouage Dia I can not smell it after ten minutes of applying it. And Creeds Neroli Sauvage I bought two samples from two different places and after twenty minutes on my skin both times it was gone with hardly any projection.
Erolfa by Creed
Roger & Gallet Jean Paul Farina Edition Cologne
post #7 of 129
Beckham's Instinct
Wow, HDS, I can smell Erolfa all day long. Why we're all different.

For me:
Borsari Aqcua Classica and Ed Hardy Love and Luck.

Millesime Imperial too if it's really hot. No problems on mild days though.

Love all of the below but longevity/sillage is an issue. Only wear them when I'm only going out for a short while

Polo Blue
Givenchy Pour Homme Red (Although I'm discovering in recent times it's not as bad as I first thought)
Carlos Santana (Great while it lasts though)
Hanae Mori EDT
Higher
not sure about the projection, but i find cdg 2 longevity a little bit lacking
post #11 of 129
Cereus No.4 and Clinique Happy.
I love Trumper Extract of West Indian Limes, but longevity is nearly nonexistent. You put it on and get a great invigorating natural lime, then it is gone in minutes (or maybe I should say seconds). Too bad, really.

This is irrelevant in a way, but I've been waiting for an opportunity to say that VIW lasts a good 15 hours on me! I love this one, so it's a bonus!
This stuff lasts all of 5 minutes:

About 7 minutes:

About 15 minutes:

About 30 minutes:

Oh yes: sneezing for 5 minutes then nothing:

I forgot the worst! I'm not even sure if there is any perfume at all in Boss Night

I forgot another. Gone almost instantly on evaporation:

Creed Bois de Cedrat. I love it, but it disappears almost immediately into a skin scent even if I bathe in it.
Why "terrible" longevity and "horrendous" projection? Not all of us want to smell like the Empress of all the Russias all the time.

On some hot days I only want to wear a simple eau de cologne, and if I have to work closely with people, a close skin scent that I can feel comfortable in is all I need.
Hermes d' Orange Verte - really like it, but so short lived, it's a deal killer for me.

Gone after 20 minutes
sean john - iamking
hermes - concentree de orange de verte
On El- good scent, yet even after half an hour, any trace of longevity is gone in spite of generous and- often repeated- applications

I have had the same experience with VIW...it lasts and lasts and lasts.
Amouage dia on me as well as dg the one and gentleman.
Burberry Weekend for Men doesn't last at all on me.

No kidding. How can they keep selling this? 10-15 minutes. Maybe someone with a super sensitive nose can get something out of it. It's heavenly lime, but gone before you leave the bathroom to get dressed.
Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree (the current version).

Does last one hour max on me :/

I can still smell Bang on me the next morning! Worst for me, D&G The One & D&G The One Gentleman. Lasts all of ten seconds on me. On a good day. It's absolutely ridiculous.
For me Gucci pour homme 2 and Gucci sport.

+1 for D&G The One, which is a shame because it's a great scent.
guess man.............3 mins if not less
PDN Cedrat, one whiff then gone.
Lacoste essential sport? Lasted quite long on me for a sport fragrance 5 hours about in summer heat. projeection wasnt the best but not the worst.

Black by kenneth cole, CK Truth
I've at least sampled, if not owned, all of the above mentioned but I have one that beats them all by a mile ...

... Dior Cologne Royale !!!

Such a shame because it's really a nice scent.
CK Be last about 15 minutes on me, even with more than 20 sprays
post #37 of 129
Clinique Happy

Same here. VIW shouldn't even be in this discussion unless you buy a fake off of Ebay.
Cedrat by Parfums de Nicolaï, 15 minutes and that's it
post #40 of 129
Most L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Amen to that.
LAVANDA TONICA has really low sillage for me, but the longevity is good.
well, I've seen many fragrances I liked that lasted like 30 mins to 2 hours...but worst of the worst....:

D&G The one and The one Gentlemen: About 10 minutes.

Gucci Pour Homme II: 30 seconds, literally.

Oh I forgot most of the hermessence line, save for Ambre Narguile, Paprika Brasil and Vetiver Tonka...they all last like 10 mins on me.
DEMETER fragrances are THE WORSE PERIOD!!!! You get 10 seconds of Longevity, maybe 5. SERIOUSLY!! And they are the worse MOST HORRIBLE smelling scents after that 10 seconds is up. Terrible drydowns. I'm glad I only paid $10 dollars for this stinky stuff. DO NOT BUY, what a rip off!!

I have a sample vial of Virgin Island Water given to me by the official Creed counter at a respectable department store. It was not an ebay purchase.
Givenchy Pour Homme - non-existent
Sean John I am King - non-existent
Gucci Pour Homme II - 30 minutes?
4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser - smells nice for a few minutes
Trumper Extract of West Indian Limes - smells nice for a few seconds

Polo Blue

Wow, really? A coworker of mine wears it, and I can smell him across the office all day long. I have a bottle, but haven't worn it in ages because of him! I get incredible projection and longevity out of Bang, too, but I like it and probably apply more liberally than with others.

Probably the worst for me is Eau d'Orange Vert by Hermes, which is a shame because I love it. A*Men Sunessence is pretty weak, too.
Clinique Happy is pretty weak also
Voyage d'Hermès. So disappointing because I absolutely loved it while it lasted. It seems to disappear almost instantly, sprayed on clothing I get maybe 15 minutes and a little bit of an afterglow. That's it.
i forgot dior - eau savage
20 minutes and its gone
Virgin Island Water lasts about 1hr.

Virgin Island works the best in high heat conditions. Hint Island Water. I get atleast 7 hours in the high heat. Don't even attempt to wear this below 85 degrees
post #53 of 129
I've become a fan of Gucci PH II lately. Even with one spray to the chest, I get wafts of it many hours later. It's got better sillage by far than Lavanda Tonica, that's for sure, but for me it's got really good sillage period, though it never really blasts you like some frags do. I'm thinking that may be the issue for some people.

Cacharel pour l'homme: gone in an hour or so.
Used to last all day on me back in the 80's.

i was really surprised , Bcause i was carrying a 10ml decant in my pocket so when the 3-4 hours passes id reapply again But it wasn't nessesary.
