Need Help/Advice! Should I BLIND BUY A*Men Pure Havane (2011)?

Hi,

Since there are none available in Canada, I will probably be forced to buy Pure Havane blind. From the notes breakdown and the reviews I've seen, it looks like there might a high chance of me liking it. However, I wanted to get more opinions on the matter.

Here are some fragrances I like:
Body Kouros --- Great vanilla drydown (somewhat strong though)
Bvlgari Black --- Love the drydown, a lighter vanilla than BK
John Varvatos --- Love everything about the smell (a bit boring though :P)
A*Men --- After testing it out for a while, I learned to love this one from top to bottom(so smooth and relaxing)
Platinum Egoiste --- top notes are meh but after 1-2hours the drydown is simply AMAZING, I love the fresh and clean vibe it brings to the table.

What I really don't want to get is a fragrance with a "mature" vibe (like Chanel's Pour Monsieur) or one with a vanilla that's too feminine (like Fahrenheit 32, Givenchy Pi or Hypnotic Poison). I'm 20 years old and in college.

From the description of my taste in fragrances do you guys think blind buying Pure Havane is somewhat safe?

Based on your likes, I would say it's a safe blind-buy. To my nose, it shares many characteristics with Pure Malt. So, if you've ever tried Pure Malt and liked it, then chances are good you would like Pure Havane as well.

With the frags you already have, it seems redundant to get PH. Are you looking for a frag that is similar to some of those you have but with a tobacco note? That would make sense if PH's tobacco note lasted a long time, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I don't have those fragrances yet :P. Those are the ones I'm really liking so far after *a lot* of testing and will probably buy the majority of them in the coming weeks.

I'm not looking for any notes in particular. And I've heard that PH's Tobacco was very faint. I'm really just wondering whether I'll like the scent or not.

I'm wearing Pure Havane right now.
It has the same patch note as A*Men, but no tar or lavender.
I'm getting mild cigar tobacco, patchouli, mild vanilla and cacao.
PH is smooth.

Yes blind buy, it's limited edition and is getting harder to find. If you don't like it you can sell it as there will always be people who would be willing to buy it off of someone.

You love the original A*Men which is a great fragrance, however in my opinion Pure Havane goes beyond A*Men so I would definitely recommend it! The honey and tobacco go beautifully with the original A*Men blueprint!

If you like vanilla yes, because that's what your going to be smelling the majority of the time. Pure Havane is A*men's step sister.

I blind bought it and now it's my current favorite. If you don't like it, you could always sell it or trade it since it's a valuable limited edition.

I too am interested in trying some but nowhere seems to have samples available. Currently where I work, I have the ability to purchase bottles of PH for $74 but since I work there I get a 20% discount. That's $59.20 for a bottle, should I blind buy? I forgot to mention I own both A*Men and B*Men, and I am a big wearer of gourmands so at that price do you think this is a safe blind buy? I recently saw it go back on sale on Thierrymugler.com for $80.00 a bottle.

Blind buy and never look back! If you like A*men, you'll love PH. Especially blind buy PH if you can get it for $59.20. In fact, get a back up bottle.
