which one would you choose

AR! More consistent/satisfying, deeper.

I have and like both but I prefer Parfums d'Empire - AmBre Russe

Well amigo, i haven't tried the Frapin yet, but if yiu decide for Amber Russe you'll have a wonderful opulent decadent amber, boozy with vodka and chaimpagne. For the same tolken you'll have a great leather fragrance too. Very warm and cozy it projects well and lasts on the skin. I'd say is very good for that autumn, and gray winters in Monterrey.
I don't know your type but don't expect a macho type of scent. It is not!

1270

Both are nice scents, but Ambre Russe has more power in sillage and longevity and is the better value, price-wise.

They're both great but different.

I voted for 1270 because it is more unique than AR. If you want an amber, there are several alternatives that are as good if not better (like Versilia vintage Ambra Mediterennea or Amber Precieux or Ambre Sultan or Absolute Amber etc etc) but there arent very many alternatives to 1270.
Plus the wooden cap is just divine.

thanx for the advice, i still can't decide
i've read too many good reviews aBout amBer russe, seems like a safe Blind Buy
But lately i've Being hearing comments like "its ok"
and im thinking that mayBe this people have tried a lot of amBer Based scents, thats why they think this one is regular
But i haven't tried amBer Based, im not really sure what amBar smell like, i don't know if there is something in my collection thats heavy on the amBer, or if there's another designer amBer Based fragrance that it is not too hard to try, please let me know

aBout the macho thing, yeah i like very masculine scents
i don't mind sweetness, But i hope sweetness in here is more masculine than femenine
i dont really like femenine scents, there are just a few exceptions: le Baiser du dragon By cartier
and hypnotiq poisson By dior

Without any doubt in my mind: Ambre Russe.

1270. King of boozy scents to me.

Nothing wrong with AR either though. I like both but prefer the former, probably for the reasons that Hedonist stated. There really isn't anything else that smells like it.

Precisely this.

It's not as bad as some say. I was able to detect it for quite some time, and it lasted for a few days on the tester that I sprayed it on. I've heard people say that it was reformulated though, and the newest version (the one hedonist and I have) might have stronger longevity than the previous one, but I can't say that with any certainty.

Both are good, I own Ambre Russe and I hope to own some 1270 soon. My vote went to Ambre Russe as I feel it's more versatile (given that 1270 is heavy on the gourmand side)

I have AR. It's very difficult to "gender" categorize. To me AR is really beyond gender. Now I can tell you what attracted me as a male: first the boozyness, second it's well-balanced complexity, cause it's playing with "heavy" ingredients some of which are not my cup of tea (I present the Cumin! xD), and third, man, the DRY DOWN!
My wife loves it on me. Usually, she doesn't hesitate to tell me when she founds a scent too feminine on me.

I found the longevity on 1270 abysmal. Seriously, like an hour to an hour and a half.

That said, I really liked the way it smelled.

That's really odd. I've always gotten pretty solid longevity from it. Wonder if it's skin chemistry for some?

Either way, it's a tough pick between 1270 and Ambre Russe. I have both, and wouldn't trade either. But for projection and longevity Ambre Russe wins hands down. I'm really liking it in the cold weather.
