I used to like it until I joined here. When you see what else is out there, it completely drops off the radar.

Only check forums for ideas of what to sample. Then get a few of those and buy full bottles of the ones that you like. Just because something is popular on here doesn't mean that you'll like it.

also dont forget to check the cologne reviews of the colognes you have in mind to buy.

L'Eau D'Issey does seem to get a lot of female compliments based on the thread you are referring to, but I can't personally recommend it because I find it truly hideous... Obviously others feel differently, so that is where the sampling suggestions others have made are key, IMO.

- Cool Water & Chanel Platinum Egoiste

D & G pour homme is my strong recommendation for wearing with ladies and out of your list I also love L'instant, & Platinum Egoiste

Allure Sport Chanel

I know they're super common (but there's a reason; they're great scents). So if you are just starting out, my vote goes for Acqua Di Gio and Cool Water. They are both very appealing to females and are versatile for various situations & seasons (especially Cool Water).

I agree with dmb6473 (on all counts), Chasing The Dragon, and Hednic.

See my response to your thread in the Just Starting Out forum.

Many Thanks guys. I do appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Thank you too much.

Aqua di Gio
Allure Sport

I base this decision on Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking. If Le Male was on the list, put that in Allure's place.

Buy 2 bottles of L'Instant de Guerlain PH EDT. It's the best of the bunch.
L'Instant
Issey
I'd take the Guerlain
and instead of azzaro chrome, go with the original. So much sexier. If not, Issey.

Many thanks guys for your informative and helpful comments. My last question is how to know the original fragrance from the fake one ?
L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Eau de Toilette
Kenzo Pour Homme Eau De Toilette Spray
Drakkar Noir Eau De Toilette Spray

seo service
L'Instant but I'd go for the Extreme version.
Chanel Allure Homme Sport
Davidoff Cool Water
I would say from that list I would go with
AHS
Code
or Cool water

Just my two cents L'instant if you dont have a very skilled nose you might not enjoy it I had a big bottle and gave it away it smelt like an older gentlemans cologne IMO.

Real vs fake.
If you really want to make sure: don't buy online, go to a dept store, niche store, whatever, smell the fragrances you want and buy them there. Dig the reputation of small fragrance stores before you go.
Generally fakes come into play in the niche and high cost markets where money can be made when buying online. You don't get to smell before you buy (obviously) so there's always a risk but generally you'll be good as long as the place you're buying from is reputable.
Cheers

Are you a fellow lurker-turned-member? Welcome to basenotes.

Never Mind, you might consider posting your question over at the female discussion forum, since you're interested in attracting females. Good luck and welcome.

Be careful with Kenzo...an unusual salty aquatic as I recall? Might turn people off compared to other aquatics. Bulgari Aqua is similar and well-regarded, or even Bulgari Aqua Marine.

I sometimes think Drakkar Noir is just too strong and dirty...look for the cheap but recently discontinued Bowling Green, which is greener and cleaner.

Dolce and Gabbana is OK, but I think Burberry's original (red box, gold juice) smells more natural in that genre.

I thought Polo Double Black was more interesting than Armani Code.

I wouldn't discount Acqua di Gio or Issey Miyake for "boring" popularity...they're among the older and better of that type, though you probably wouldn't need more than one of these.

I also doubt that you would get a fake unless you're careless enough to buy a bottle / box that looks noticeably different for surprisingly cheap.

If you're going to buy them online, your best bet is to avoid Ebay altogether for the more popular, top-selling fragrances (I personally have bought a fake Allure Homme Sport there, among others). Better to stick with well-regarded e-tailers such as Fragrancenet -- which has a "basenotes" coupon code -- Parfum1, Strawberrynet, etc.
