Not even for starters. Yohji Homme is way much more special, but 1270 is entertaining too if you like well excecuted sweet/boozy dried fruit notes in perfumes.

do you mean yohji is a more complex scent? my first idea was a comparison on gourmand basis, obviously i was wrong.

Yohji Homme is very refined, unique and masterfully made with exceptionally talented handcaft. There is nothing like it, like this subtle and classy licorice fougere. It's one of a kind beauty.

1270 is a sweet, syrupy dried fruit semi-gourmand oriental, the type of perfume this world is full of. It's not bad at all, but there are better formulations of that kind. Look for some Serge Lutens's, for instance.

As PM mentions, Yohji Homme is more of a fougére than a pure gourmand--it shimmers. Really brilliant.

1270 is much heavier, not at all the same.

Have both and like both but prefer the Frapin.

Not to derail this, but is Yohji simmilar to Frapin 1270? I found a bottle of Yohji at work with about 3-4mL left in it about 4 years ago. I savored those last ML, that fragrance is really something special and it has been virtually impossible to find it since.

They're not similar, IMO. I have both (though the YH is only a 5m decant), but of the two prefer the 1270. If the Yohji was just a tiny bit more vocal it might have made the choice harder.
