I really like Rose 31 and it is one of my day to day fragrances. There is just one note I really can't identify. It's a peppery type scent with just a little harshness to it, to me. Just wondering if anyone else picks up this note? It is possible I just don't know what it is. Sorry if my description isn't that good.

It is possible that your are smelling a combination of iso e super kicking up the cumin or another spice such as ginger. I also smell some dark bitter green notes in the fragrance that might black currant leaf or something like it. There are supposedly 31 notes, but the 31 number may just be marketing blah. Iso e super has a rush of cedar smell but coupled with spice notes it kind of super charges them a little. I asked a sales person at a LeLabo shop what the notes where in Rose 31 once and they told me that they could not reveal that - but that there were 31 of them.

Black Currant Leaf that could be it. However I have smell that note in several other fragrances and this one is different. It seems slightly darker to me. I'm not sure what it is...
