Paid a visit to the newly opened Santa Maria Novella Boutique at IFC and bought myself Pot-Pourri because ya gotta start somewhere, right?

Will post photos of the shop over in the HK Thread next week. Tried Nostalgie on paper and a liberal couple of shots of Fieno which I like a lot. Forgot to grab some of the toothpaste - too much going on! This place is gonna be fun. Expensive fun.

Pix of the shop:

It's still October 1 here, and I'm continuing to work through my backlog of mini purchases from FeeBay. The day started with vintage Jolie Madame which lasted for only 4-5 hours. *SIGH* I then moved on to the EDP samples of Cartier's Le Baiser du Dragon and I couldn't WAIT for it to move along because the beginning is incredibly sulfurous to my nose! Apparently I have too many visions of fantastical dragons breathing in my head. And also, it's very apparent that I used way too much of the scent this first time!!!

Please pardon my ignorance, but is Michel Roudnitska the inspiration for the composition of this scent? I have seen the names of various great 'noses' on the labels of Frederic Malle scents, and I wondered why. So now I get to ask!

October is starting as sick as september ended.

For the very first time I caved in to peer pressure and snatched a bottle of Pure Havane off french ebay.

I recently smelled this for the first time at the Airport in riga. Wanted it.

Passed on the 60 euros duty free price because I had seen them at German ebay go for ~ 40.
Came home only to notice that a few jerks have started buying all and reselling for 200 buy now.
Last auction I saw went for 90 €!!

Now I only hope it reaches me as planned!

Jaime, this looks lovely - I'd love to hear your thoughts about it. IMO, Yann Vasnier is on a roll and I can't get enough of his new releases.

These came from my darling friend scent.

Chaos by Donna Karan and le feu d'Issey by Issey Miyake.

Now I understand why le feu d'Issey was sooo controversial.

Yesterday it came to my door in a blind buy impulse:

A very nice leather experience...similar to John Varvatos but more aromatic and somehow sweeter. A real keeper. I just can't wait to give it a proper full wearing along with my brand new leather jacket.
