These came from my darling friend scent.

Chaos by Donna Karan and le feu d'Issey by Issey Miyake.

Now I understand why le feu d'Issey was sooo controversial.

Welcome to the bottomless fragrance pit, catinboots and Your Boy Hank.

My mini of Mary McFadden arrived- the top is a teensy bit off but the heart and base are still the fabulous complex chypre I recall from the late 70's (although I didn't know what a chypre was then). Thanks again for alerting me to this auction, my eagle scent sistah bookwrymsmith!

Some major swap activity with one perfumista friend over the past weeks provided me with: 10+ oz. of a 1960s L'Heure Bleue EdC (possibly) of amazing freshness (normally, I would have never dared to buy one of these low concentrations when this old, because I am fussy about my florals being intact), original Rose de Nuit (Serge Lutens), vintage Poivre (VERY excited!) and other vintage gems in small amounts.

So glad you were able to nab it Knit! And a belated Happy Birthday!

The Perfumer's Workshop fragrances came today .
Rosebud-smells like a soft rose soap and is fairly close wearing-to skin scentish.
Watercolors -smells more complex .I *think* it has Carnation,Lily-of-the-valley,Peony,Bergamot ...something in the vanilla family in the base Tonka? Benzoin? ..not really sure . It smells nice though and I think I saw some more listed as Watercolors by Coty or Dana for around $8. The bottle shape /color were the same and if the sticker was off the bottom of the bottle a seller wouldn't know any better.
Les Girls True Lilac smells stronger so I haven't skin tested yet . It smells from the bottle like Lilacs.
One ounce bottles of each and they are about 75% full.

Knize Ten. A gift from a dear friend and i quote "how can you be my friend and not have Knize Ten in your wardrobe".

Black Aoud (black can).

I may be called a hypocrite by some LOL. But it stems from my goal to be moderate. BA is a lovely Arabian rose perfume albeit the Oud grade used. So I'll enjoy it for what it is and not what it can be.

That's why I grabbed a 750 ml splash bottle for a steal. I literally pour it over me and spread it over my upper body. Fun, isn't it? Congrats!

Naughty impulse purchase of SL Chene last night. Was convinced I was going to come away with Chergui, but Chene seemed more fitting for all the endless torrential rain we've been having - and I also didn't want anything quite as sweet and extroverted as Chergui.

Nice score, volley2! That is my favourite amongst the VC&A extraordinaires.

Volley2, I've been sampling that one, and it is wonderful. I've got one more spray left, but it's a contender. Congrats!

Today a friend brought me Tomorrow by Avon. She was wearing it one day and I complimented her on it, so she surprised me by buying me my own bottle. The official notes are African violet and sun ripened raspberry, but I don't get fruity/floral at all. The opening is a sharp cedar (or perhaps pine) note that dries down into a lovely warm musk. The perfume is all the more sweeter because it was a surprise gift!

On a completely side note, my Mom used to have an African violet plant. When it bloomed it didn't smell like anything.

Chalice - How lovely! Tomorrow is one of my favorite Avon perfumes! I've never perceived anything like raspberries either, or violet. I don't think it's fruity at all - I'd classify it as a floral oriental. It's not in the list of notes, but I've always gotten a lush and creamy magnolia note from it - I actually consider it one of my favorite magnolia perfumes, along with L'Instant and Magnolia Nobile. At any rate, and whatever notes you get, enjoy it - it's really a very graceful and beautiful fragrance!

Not weird at all! Spend more time on here, you'll see that you fit right in...great fragrance. I have one, too. Enjoy!

AND...I am SUPER excited. Because I just purchased a vintage (1950's I'm guessing) Chanel No. 5 Parfum--sealed, full, with the boxes. It's either 1 oz or 3 oz. Based on the markings on the box and bottle measurements, it just might be the bigger one. The anticipation is killing me. Even if it's the 1 oz. I paid a little less for it than I would have paid for a new 1 oz bottle.

I also have on the way a lovely vintage Chanel No. 22 eau de cologne from the Posh Peasant. I have been lurking around that bottle since they first put it on the site. Now, it's mine!
