bulgari black - should i blind buy it?

Hi guys been reading up on bulgari black and seems to get good reviews. I am from UK and its gone from the high street stores which used to have it, i have never smelt it before. Just wondering if i should blind buy it from the net considering it might not be around for much longer? Thanks

it's a good scent but I'd not blind buy it.
the rubber note is very prominent and may be off-putting for some people and in fact, I find it hard to wear sometimes for that reason. I think the drydown is heavenly but the rubber note can get very strong

a similar frag is midnight in paris by van cleef & arpels - you might want to check that out also.

I don't know that it's being phased out, so unless you know something we don't, I wouldn't worry about that.

It is classic and loved by many, but I find it lacking in longevity. I wouldn't advocate a blind buy of anything, especially since you're new and we don't know much about your tastes yet.

As noted above, Midnight in Paris also worth a sniff if there's something about the descriptions of BB that intrigue you.

Although I like it quite a bit, its not a safe blind buy imo. Vanilla rubber is what I get from this, its a strange one. Midnight in Paris is a more wearable version of BB.

If you like vanilla it is a pretty safe blind buy, I'd say. I don't think the rubber note is that much of a big deal.

It's safe, in fact it's too safe. All I get from Black is powdery vanilla with a hint of black tea. Massively overhyped IMO.

Powder and vanilla in a feminine way. I would not blind buy this one

I like it a lot, but as others have stated, you might want to head to a department store to sample first.

If you love the smell of rubber then it's probably a good blind buy. I've heard that the newer version has a weaker rubber note but since I don't like it I haven't investigated it personally.

I would rather blind Midnight in Paris its cousin. I have not smelled BB but I do like MIP quite a bit and thinks its FBW.

IMO no.

While trying it first is always best, I will swim against the tide and say it could easily be blind bought. With stores like Amazon selling the small bottles for around $25 delivered, it is not particularly risky. As to the fragrance itself, it is somewhat distinctive, but the tire note is relatively subdued and blends in well with the rest of the notes. It is not a risk-free proposition, but I would say the odds are in your favor on this one.

So did I, and I don't regret it either. It's cheap, interesting, and wearable enough that I would say go for it. $25 vs. $5-10 shipped for a sample? Just go for the small bottle.

l have not smelled it myself, but l regularly see it available very cheaply in TK Maxx, so l recommend looking in there if you have one near you!
