Absolue Pour Le Soir - Dirtyyyy - Page 2

smells quite similar to Sambrani/Loban temple incense which you get in Indian religious stores used to get rid of negative energy and cleanse spaces. Upon further research, I discovered Sambrani incense is essentially made from Benzoin, the main note in Pour Le Soir. I personally like PLS, Kurkdijian takes the ancient benzoin note and gives it a modern twist.

From time to time, it does remind me of the aroma of incense smell on Telegraph Ave. Those were the days...

It's opening reminds me of musc ravaguer. Then beautiful honey and musk. I do not find this dirty at all. I sprayed this thinking it will be beastly but was quite surprised at how wearable and lovely this turned on my skin.

Hi Cacio, and hi all you, my compliments for this interesting 3d!
I don't find APLS dirty for musk use, but for a brave cumin overdose, finding in this spice the animal inside the scent. Now I'm thinking about his musky aspect to my nose precluded until today! Magisterial too the benzoin use in this great composition!
Concerning dirty scents, I agree about Oud 27 (very interesting his particular syntethic dirty..), but before, as first, I put Musk Ubar by Royal Crown, it reminds me MKK preriformulation for the fecal power in the strong opening.. Have you ever try it?

a particular about APLS, for me inwearable in summery hot days, it becomes really damny too warm!
I'm with Petruccij considering APLS the best release for 2010. Thanks Kurkdjian!

Wearing this right now and wow, what a beautiful fragrance! It smells a little skanky right after applying, I even get little whiffs of urine every now and then but it quickly settles down to a beautiful warm, animalic, honey musk fragrance with a slight hint of rose. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do, it's really lovely...

I like it more the more I wear it.

Just how much civet and cumin are in this? It is comparable to Jicky or McQueen's Kingdom?

Not comparable. To my nose nothing is prominent in APLS, it just smells like a very smooth sweet musky fragrance. Neither civet nor cumin stand out when wearing it.

It's not the same, but it's more in the family of MKK or Original Musk than Jicky or Kingdom.

Fully agree with laph. there's plenty of both, but neither feels prominent. Everything is just smooth, so much so that to my nose it feels less dirty than original musk or mkk.

Now, I had missed the previous post by leuconoe - Arabian perfumes are not available here, but I'll make a note on Musk Ubar...
Edit: I thought it was an arabian thing, but no, it appears to be a $$$$$ Italian thing. Oh well.

Doesn't APLS smell a lot like Le Labo's Rose 31, but maybe a tad less rosy? It must be the cumin, but to me they smell VERY similar.

Not even remotely close.

For me this is way too dirty to wear, although I respect it as a scent. I like Cologne version of this much more.

Boah...This makes me so curious.
When I first tested Ambre Sultan, it was so tough and not wearable for me at the beginning.
But the drydown was just amazing and couldn“t stop smelling my wrist.

If many of you claim that it is dirty and really challangeing for an hour, I want to test it right now!!

I like APLS opening. It's a honey scent. It is not dirty in a fecal/urine way IMO. Great scent.

I didn't have the stomack for it.

I get a lot of honey in this one too. My first thought was, 'people call honey dirty?'.

I'm enjoying my sample of this but am having trouble convincing myself to buy it since FK's comments about BNers.

It's always fun reading all the different views of Kouros, but for whatever reason I still haven't found time to sample it.

The smell of civet is pronounced in Jicky EDP and Mouchoir de Monsieur, the latter being a civet bomb.

The smell of L.T. Piver Cuir has a lot of honey with leather.

To my nose, this is a much better version of L'ombre Fauve. Sexy stuff but I only wear it in private.
