By Man by Dolce & Gabbana.

Fortunately I have two bottles of it now so I don't feel so hard done by.

Fahrenheit totally passed me by and I was a teenager during the Eighties. I have just discovered it this year and it was like " Where Have You Been All My Life" and it's now one of my favorites. Love the stuff.

Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger

The original version of Crepe de Chine by Millot. Oh, I could just kick myself not to have bought a bottle. Today, Long Lost Perfume has made a copy, but that is not the same. It smells good too. But, the poignant feel and spicy elegance of the original is not there.

Same with Le De by Givenchy. I remember it as a clean-cut cologne with some impertinence, and today's sample from The Perfumed Court is simply not the same. Is it my nose ? Is it that things from the good old times - in retrospect - are made out more than they deserve to be ?

Don't know, don't care. What is done, is done.

Jicky

And I'm glad I missed it...

Aramis & Grey Flannel - Thank God I did.

Armani Acqua Di Gio- Never even heard of it when I first smelled it back in 2007. Didn't know it was so popular either, just knew it was the best smelling cologne I've smelled at the time. I guess it's technically still all the rage in the mainstream...

Fahrenheit for me as well. I am correcting that mistake pronto. It is indeed great stuff.

Le Male

I don't know where I was during the Le Male craze. I don't think I was wearing anything at that point.

The entire A*Men Pure series. Where was I??

I kind of wish I had known about Zino when it came out in the late 80's. It would have been my signature scent for sure.

I wish I'd paid more attention to Chaos by Donna Karan, Ungaro II, Gucci Nobile and a few others.

You guys are cracking me up!
I missed all the designer trends from 1982 onwards, Antaeus was the last "new" designer fragrance I wore when it was first released. That was one amazing fragrance before its reformulation. The bee's wax note was so heavenly.
Not being much of a fan of the post-1984 popular designer fragrances - my favorites seem to all have been huge commercial bombs/underdogs: Derby, Commes des Garçons 2 Man, and Ocean Rain are some examples.
By the end of the 80s, the Cool Water craze really scared me out of the designer juice pool for well over a decade.
Anyways, I much prefer niche, and I can't say that I have any regrets. I certainly missed the Ck One craze, big time. I'm not even sure if I even know what it smells like.

I too missed Fahrenheit, and believe it or not I missed Kouros which I smelled for the first time this last week.

I missed out on many...Kouros and Antaeus come to mind

I would have reached the age when I might first have taken an interest in scents in 1988.

The stuff that was all the rage in the UK for the next few years was:

Fahrenheit
Cool Water
CK One
Tommy
Hugo
Le Male
L'eau D'Issey PH
Acqua di Gio
Boss Bottled
Allure Homme
Boss In Motion
Allure Homme Sport
Armani Code

Even though I was not really into fragrance over this time, did I know all these existed? Yes. Why?

Marketing. I'm saturated by it (and its the only reason some in that list ever became popular).

Same here. I remember my oldest brother having a bottle of Kouros when I was a little kid. Antaeus was only vaguely familiar. I never got around to trying either until I joined up here. As a guy who cut his teeth on Aramis, I'm glad I did.
