going to a career fair.. Frag or no frag?

I will be attending a career fair, and participating in a number of group and one-on-one interviews. Do you think it would be a bad idea to include a fragrance into the mix?
I will be wearing a suit.

I'm really on the fence because I don't want to offend anyone, yet at the same time I feel like a fragrance could help the interviewers remember me...

my choice of fragrances are as follows:

Hm by hanae mori
pure havane
Burberry London
Victoria's secret very sexy

or, if all of these are no-gos, I'm very open to suggestions.

Do one spray of HM and dab it wherever you want. Less is more. You're not going on a date!

Try Burberry London if you're in a cold place.

It projects quite moderately, has below average longevity and smells like Christmas

Certainly not a cloying frag after the first 1-2 hours.....

I was definitely thinkin HM or London too.
the area will be heated, so it might not suit London so much.

I'm kind of nervous so I also want to be wearing a nice frag to relax me

If you're wearing a suit, then I don't think it'd be off limits at all to wear a fragrance, I think they'd compliment each other. If I were you I'd just watch how much to spray

In these troubled economic times will a clever company try to market an EDT as "the fragrance that wins you a new job"?

Wearing a fragrance - any fragrance - to a job interview or job fair is flirting with disaster. It's probably not going to help, and it sure could hurt your chances. (If it worries you at all during an interview whether the other person likes/dislikes your scent, it's a needless distraction.)

Your appearance, personality, resume, intelligent conversation and ability to solve a problem for your prospective employer need to make a lasting impression.

Good choice. I once lightly applied Grey Vetiver to an interview. It was a successful one. IMO vetiver shows that you're confident.

Depends on what job you're hoping to get. Pick a scent if you think it truly enhances your personality. If not, leave it alone because it will seem unnatural.

Scent is a part of grooming for men. Using it appropriately is similarly to styling your hair appropriately for work. First impressions count! So yeah, go for something classy; Grey Vetiver is great, but my personal favorite is Italian Cypress.

Keep it down low and your fragrance should present the least of your problems. If they like you, they will hire you so go work on that charm. If interviewers remember you only for your fragrance, that's a clear sign of an interview gone wrong.

NO SCENT at an interview is a GREAT SCENT, charm them with your natural talents! Show off the scents later on when your working on getting "employee of the year"!

I would agree that no scent is the safest way to go. If that just won't work for you then go very light on the trigger. I interview and hire and can honestly say that a prospective employee wearing a frag never works in their favor and generally works against them. I have twice interviewed people that wore so much fragrance (both were excellent scents that I recognized) that it was very uncomfortable for the both of us. I am in the U.S. and would be interested in how this question is answered by those in other countries that may have differing standards or ideas on the matter.

I agree with this. It could be just the random variable that gets your resume thrown in the vertical by some anti-perfume hr person. Or the person could by chance hate whatever you are wearing. As we all know here, one person's great scent can ruin someone else's day. I wouldn't risk it, especially in this difficult job market.

At least in my experience going to interviews here in Europe, I've always worn easy, safe, low-projection scents to interviews and I've had a pretty good rate thus far .

You are looking for the scent that a) isn't really something that the interviewer will notice and b) will make you feel good and secure about yourself (where the latter part is by far the most important reason to wear one at all).

I'm talking more Acqua Di Gio in one spray then 3 sprays of A*Men, just to be clear.

Done! You wouldn't happen to need an employee who is fluent in Japanese would you? I'll burn all my fragrances immediately!
